How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We booked exclusively for the pool, however, the pool was actually in the collocated fitness club and pretty cumbersome to use. Also, our kids are younger and felt uncomfortable splashing in a pool that others were swimming laps in.

Hotel is located about 30 min by walk from Galway City Centre, this large hotel has free parking and spacious bar/restaurants. The spa is managed by separate company, but for hotel guest is for free, you only need the hair cap (own or you have to buy it for 2.5eur). The bedroom was fine, clean and with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast offer classic Irish meals with minimum of vegetable or fruits. During the breakfast time there were a lot of tourists from buses, so there was a traffic jam :-). Staff were helpful.

My bedroom was in a section of the hotel that doesn't seem to have been recently renovated. While the bed and room were fine, the bathroom had seen better days. the bathtub had a stained shower curtain hanging from a rusty pole, and the flow of water in the shower was difficult to control due to a worn out shower head. In the morning, there was some painting/decorating work going on on the ground floor corridor leading to the lobby, making it a bit difficult to walk through with luggage as the floor was covered in plastic sheets and the corridor was busy with both guests and the people working. While it's perfectly acceptable that these works were being carried out, it would have been helpful if the reception staff had mentioned this during check-in the day before.
Conveniently located on the outskirts of Galway City Centre, this large hotel has free parking, a spacious bar/restaurants, and a spa. The bedroom was fine, clean and with a very comfortable bed. Food in the restaurant was good both at dinner and at breakfast. Staff were helpful.

No one mention it was under construction. We were given a room that seemed to be “finished” that day. Room was not ready for guest. Bathroom dispensers not hung on wall, my 4 yr old found a screw on the floor. Fixtures not secure on wall. It was tossed together. 7am wake up when they started construction in the room next door.
Large hotel seemed well run.

The bathroom particularly the shower the floor kept flooding all around the toilet had to use 4 towels to clean up the water and as we only had a one night stay we had no clean towels to use for the night or next morning

1. Would have liked a mini-fridge in room. 2. That lattes / cappuccinos etc., would be served at breakfast table by staff as opposed to going out to coffee-dock in reception area & carrying coffee back to table. With a busy foyer, this would not be safe and/or user friendly.

We stayed on one of the warmest night of the year so far, it would have been great if rooms had A/C facilites esp family rooms. our kids were sweating in the middle of the night. Tried opening windows but draft didnt reach whole room because curtains had to be closed.
Hotel was lively, kids club available (although we didnt get a chance to use it) pool and leisure facilities great

The cost for two nights was way overpriced considering no breakfast was included. Also while the room was lovely and clean it was too small considering the price. Also no shower hat in the bathroom.

The size, scale and activity at the hotel was a bit of a surprise, but this didn't negatively impact on our stay as we were independent for breakfast and out much of the time. No real complaints.
Family suite with kitchenette allowed us independence for breakfast and snacks. Twin rooms met our family requirements. Useful to also have an entrance lobby for shoes etc. Large swimming pool was also a big bonus for the kids, though due to a packed programme they only had a little use of it. Staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing.

Booked a family room with two adults and 2 teenagers. Very small room for a family size so wasn't the best to share for 5 days. A bit dated but some others in the group did get an upgrade to a beautiful room. My room was just on the small side and bathroom was dated. Cleaning could have also been a bit more thorough.
Bar and Restaurant were amazing with entertainment every night and allowed families to stay together without having to go back early due to younger children etc. Pool was fabulous. Breakfast great and location was 7 to 10 min drive from centre. Walkable for anyone able for 25 minute walk. Great place for young and older in life. Parking was free and plentiful.
