There was a very strong bad smell in the bedroom, it was an overpowering musty damp smell.

Spa treatments had to be booked well in advance. Our 'premium' balcony rooms, although in a quiet location, didn't offer as nice views as many of the standard room as they were located down the side of the Hotel.

We liked the flexibility of check-in and the range of options for Breakfast

Furniture in the Room was a bit tired. You have to pay €15 per Person to use the Sauna, no swimming pool.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and very spacious Bed was comfortable. Lovely grounds to sit outside. Excellent breakfast, had a menu to choose from fresh cooked full irish fry and Waffles.

Room was a bit tired but we understand after speaking to the owner that they are in the throws of updating the rooms and bathrooms.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Enjoyed having a spa treatment. Bed was very comfortable. Lovely grounds a pity there wasn't more sunshine to make use of them, but you don't go to Ireland for the sun!!

Only issue was the temperature and shower pressure in the bathroom, took about 5 minutes to get it hot and had to play with the shower pressure.

Everything was perfect from the staff in the reception when we checked in Saturday afternoon the room was perfect amazing view of the harbour, to the staff in the restaurant that evening were very helpful and polite, to the staff members when we arrived on to breakfast felt comfortable and looked after. We look forward to returning to the killaloe hotel again.

I hadn’t a table booked for food so could not get bar food or restaurant or anything to eat, all very understandable as it was a busy day but I felt I should have been able to get bar food to have in room.

Room was very cosy and beds were very comfortable, great shower.

I found the day time shift receptionist rude on the phone and in person and was more concerned with talking to fellow staff. When I arrived at the hotel and went to enquire about the room the lady was more interested in brushing me off and carrying on her conversation. This was also the same when during lunch as I arrived a bit early she called about my dinner booking and some confusion about if I was booked for afternoon tea. She kept interrupting me when I was trying to speak (I had been for afternoon tea the month before for my birthday and had wanted to say that it was mostly a note related to an old booking and I had definitely booked for dinner) she just kept speaking over me and this was the same at the desk. I sat with my son in the reception to wait to go to our room which she wasn’t even willing to check if it was ready( I had asked for early book in which she said she saw but didn’t respond to in terms of mentioning anything regarding checking) she seemed to me to save her energy for the “girls” at work and was full of energy and kindness but god forbid I ask a question. I was bringing my son away for his birthday to a spa after having been in hospital as I deal with a lot of health issues. I have travelled extensively and seen a lot of Ireland and different hotels and this was absolutely disgusting. I was not staying for free I was a paying customer who spent a decent amount in the hotel. Where I found other staff and the other evening shift receptionist Iddy to be amazing, I think this needs addressing. I did speak to a manager about it but also found the manager a bit cool and said she would speak to her manager. Then within a few minutes the receptionist came to find me to say our room was ready but to be honest it really spoiled my stay because it really pissed me off. No paying customer should be treated like an interruption. Staff are paid to cater to guests it is the hospitality sector!

I liked the staff in the restaurant and spa they went above and beyond to help and do what they can to make guests feel comfortable. The restaurant is lovely.
