Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs mentioned above - under the bed could have done with a hoover. But I mention this in the context of the overall experience which was really great. I could also go on about the view, the peace and quiet of the place, my delight at seeing a lovely white duck run by the window, watching a robin etc etc. I think it was value for money and the hosts were 10/10 for friendliness. The next day I woke (having travelled all the way from Scotland) and I felt so well rested and ready for the rest of my trip - it was great
The place was lovely, great location (ESPECIALLY FOR TRAD MUSIC) and a great host. It said it did not provide breakfast but there was lovely fresh soda bread, jam and milk (after a long journey that was much appreciated). I enjoyed speaking to the owner and her daughter. When entering the place (and after their had been a LOT of rain) I would mention that it smelt slightly damp. But there was an excellent heater (so much so that I actually took the name of it) and really in minutes the place was as warm as toast and very, very comfortable. In the night the fitted sheet came off the bed and reattaching that corner I had to lift the mattress which showed me that under the bed was not as clean as everywhere else was. But, would I stay there again? Yes!

IrelandThe location of the pod is in, what feels like to be, the middle of nowhere beside a private residential house. In reality is approximately 15-20mins drive from Milltownmalbay & Lahinch is a 30min drive approx down very narrow country roads. The grounds surrounding the pod were in unkept condition with a rough gravel entrance, uncut grass & and an abundance of weeds. Even under the dome (designed as a sheltered place to sit out in) had overgrown grass & quite mature looking weeds. Bushes surrounding the property were overgrown too which blocked whatever view that existed beyond them.
The Rainbow Pod is very comfortable & clean. It came supplied with a kettle, microwave, tea, coffee, milk & a delicious brown bread (+ butter & jam). Overall, it’s a delightful & very cosy & peaceful place to stay in.

IrelandDidnt like the shower & toilet in one. I know space was tight but i didnt want to have a shower as the floor would have been all wet & it be horrible going in after to use the toilet
Location was lovely though I would have preferred if the hedges were cut down a bit to be able to enjoy the fabulous view of the sea. We could just about see the sun setting Host left beautiful brown bread butter & jam as well as milk in the fridge

IrelandThe only down side was the pod is pet friendly, ( which was grand, but the few ducks roaming around meant you couldn’t let dogs out for a wee or leave pod door open all day. But hey we just had to get up very early and bring dogs to beach (ducks and owners two dogs out and a o bout all day which is grand once even the dogs get along?… we had three small dogs with us so that was an issue to begin with) but enjoyed the pod thoroughly… very friendly and helpful owner too!!!…

IrelandThe area around the pod outside lacked a bit of TLC. I'm sure in its prime it was a beautiful outdoor area.
Pod was spotless. Beautiful fresh bread, jam and fresh milk awaited us on our arrival. Pod was lovely and warm as we entered after a rough and wet boat ride. Bed was comfortable. Our kids absolutely loved the whole experience. Hot water available at all times. Fluffy fresh towels available. Ducks and dogs roam around freely much to our small peoples delight
