Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandNot much to be honest, some knifes for chopping in the kitchen would be helpful.
Location is beautiful, set in a quiet and safe gated area but only a very short 2 minute walk to the local playground, the Quay and Pub. For holiday houses they are spacious, comfortable and well stocked with all you need for your stay

United StatesNot much. We were unfamiliar with how to use the washer/dryer combo because most of us we’re from the states but we figured it out. And leaving, none of us enjoyed leaving.
Our entire experience at the Waterside Cottages was exceptional and exceeded expectations. The host was communicative, the accommodations were cozy and comfortable. The location was perfect with a private-ish garden area and a very short walk (maybe 2 minutes) to the water. And beautiful views of Lough Derg from cottage 5. We loved how quiet and rural it was, yet still a short drive from shops. We will use this property in the future for sure. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Geraldine!

IrelandOne thing to watch is the sat nav directions don't bring you to the right entrance so if you are arriving after dark, and you are not familiar with the area, it's a bit further on than you think!
This was our third time staying at the Waterside Cottages so we knew what to expect and were not disappointed! Lovely comfortable house, beds are very nice, everywhere clean. Love the little stove for a cosy fire in the evening.

United KingdomThe family bathroom needs some attention
The house was lovely and warm when we arrived, tea/coffee and cake left for us, which was very welcoming. There were 3 bathrooms, 2 ensuite, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Excellent communication with the host prior to and during our stay. We had a problem with one of the bathrooms, but it was easy to get hold of the host, who then arranged for a plumber to come and address the problem.

IrelandThere was no local shop in the village, we had to drive to Ballycommon to to a petrol station or Nenagh to Tesco for shopping.
Quite location, the house had everything we needed as a family of 6. Host Geraldine was very friendly and dealt with a query very quickly. Food in the Whiskey Still and the local Cafe was lovely and reasonable priced. Inflatable obstacle course on the lake was great for kids and we had a great couple of hours out on the lake on a boat tour.

IrelandThe network connection was poor until you got to the end of the driveway, that was the only thing with any issue and in fact was maybe a blessing as we really switched off.
I went with 12 friends for our yearly get together so we wanted just comfort and cleanliness where we would have space to have meals together and catch up in a relaxing way. We couldn’t have been happy with the properties (we took 2 cottage side by side) or the owner’s helpfulness and facilitation. Location was a beautiful little village near Nenagh, with a wonderful waterfront and small bistro and bar within walking distance. Property was spotlessly clean and with more than enough comfort with beds and bed clothes. The houses had great heating systems and open log fires if you needed which we didn’t. There is a handy picnics bench at the back of each cottage where you can sit out to eat and these were most used by us, great joined together for 13 of us to have dinner and drinks enjoying the evening sun Keeping the properties clean was easy with cleaning equipment and dishwasher and washing machine in each. Basically these were a home from home which we thoroughly enjoyed. Geraldine the owner was very flexible with arrival and departure times, and very responsive for questions like takeaway delivery options. Btw there is a lovely Lana in Nenagh that does deliver to this address for Approx. €10. We also made use of a wonderful bar/restaurant about 5 mins drive from the property for Sunday lunch, called The Thatch. Food and staff were fantastic. All in all a great visit that we thoroughly enjoyed. We would return here as a group for value for money, cleanliness and friendliness and helpfulness of the owner. Thank you Geraldine!
