How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was a green brightly light on the ceiling of our bedroom, I think is called emergency light, it was highly visible when turning off the lights for sleeping(very uncomfortable), the shower in the ensuite toilet does not have curtain, so the floor got flooded after having a shower. The morning after our first night, we heard a dog barking non stop basically the whole morning, therefore we couldn't rest properly 😔
The place was super clean, well located, close to all the main tourist attractions, spacious bedrooms, shared kitchen really tidy, delicious food in its restaurant. Staff super friendly and helpful 🙂

Lack of rubbish bin in the bathroom. We could hear all noises from outside.
Very clean, refurbished rooms. Possibility to use common, well-equipped kitchen. Very nice, helpful owners. One of the cheapest places to stay in the area.

The hostel is newly renovated and pristine clean ,beds bedding and bathroom was like a very good hotel. There was also a very nice common room which looked great but as our stay was short we did not get the chance to enjoy. It is a fantastic facility in West Cavan. Price was very reasonable for Facilities and service given. A Good breakfast is available also.

Public transportation, would be a advantage to having your own transport.
Very peaceful location, Aiden the owner couldn’t do enough for you, I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Found the whole experience brilliant and Aidan couldn't do enough for us

Could find no fault
Aidan, the host,was exceptional with his time and care ,the accommodation was spotless,newly furnished and fresh ,I would highly recommend this place,yes its out of the way but set in beautiful country side,amazing value for money,definitely a real find !,

Aiden was amazing. We had a small car accident and couldn't make it to the hostel until 8pm he was very understanding and gave us a lovely warm welcome to end a stressfull day. The hostel is spotless and the room was beautiful the pictures don't do it justice would highly recommend

During mornings the water of the shower was cold, so we asked for the host to heat it up in advance, also we had a problem with the alarm of our room, that hopefully he solved as well
The bedroom was super big and comfortable; the host took care of every detail to make our time there super comfortable and with less worries. Good smell of the room, warmth, and towels provided. Kitchen and livingroom clean and comfy.

Wall were thin. I found it hard to have a private conversation without disturbing the person next door. Considering there was only two of us staying there I feel we should have been further part.
Shame the village had lost its sparkle. The accomodation was top class for a hostel.

Everything was great
Aidan was very kind and welcoming, he made sure we had everything we needed. Room was large, clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable! The place was easy to find, large parking space outside. Living room with a huge telly and free Netflix access was a bonus!

Nothing. Super clean, nice facilities, central, friendly and helpful staff, what more could you want at that price point.
Has a lovely clean kitchen if you want to make your own breakfast (which I did) and a cafe attached if you want to buy.
