How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

One window in room didn't open- got it fixed. Remote didn't work. At birthday meal 3 people sent beef back as it was tough..other 2 plowed ahead but beef was hard tp cut !! Disappointing
Friendly atmosphere, lovely room, accommodating staff, chocolate on arrival for birthday mum and facilitated birthday cake.

The location, built further out than we wanted
The decor was really lovely, not quite the location we thought but that’s our fault as didn’t know the area. Lovely clean and comfortable rooms with lots of facilities.

Pillows and beds are so uncomfortable. Rooms are not being maintained to a high standard. The changing room in the leisure centre is in very bad disrepair, lookers are poor and unsightly, a lot of tiles missing off the hot tub which is a pity and it was fab.
2nd stay, nice hotel, good location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice but are not being maintained at all. The beds are so uncomfortable that I just couldn't get comfortable. It's nice to have bottled water in the room as well. The breakfast is fab and lots to choose from. The leisure centre is really fab, and it's good to see a lifeguard actually on the deck watching kids in the pool. Thanks to Paddy and his colleagues, they were so friendly.

Room/bathroom was a bit dated. NO toiletries provided (other than body/hand wash attached to the wall) which for the price of the room at weekend rate was surprising. Minimal expectation really. My room was immediately next to the lift so I could hear it operating all through the night.
Breakfast was wonderful ! Huge range of freshly cooked items, great range of breads and lovely fresh fruit, yoghurts etc..

The breakfast was inedible unfortunately, most of the buffet options were empty and many of the plates were dirty. The one poor staff member was run off her feet and the overall feel of the breakfast was chaotic.
The room was spacious and comfortable. Equally, the reception staff were friendly and welcoming.

One of the bar staff was just like he didn’t want to be there and when asking for a drink felt like we were inconveniencing him and he and one of the floor staff were arguing over the ice scoop,they were so unprofessional. There was one girl that took our food order she was lovely and helpful but I forgot to get her name. The waiting staff were not great as after we gave our orders the man that was bringing out the food brought out our mains before we even got our starter.Then when we were finished dinner it was an hour or a bit longer and our table still had not been cleared. If it had been busy I would understand but it was not,so we just went to our room as between the bad staff and lack of attention to the customers and not just us we had had enough of bad service.

The tea was not replaced in the room for the second day. Also, the bar food was OK, but nothing great. Price was high for what you got. Left waiting to pay!!

The only thing I didn't like was that we had an interconnecting corner room. It would be ideal for a family but the TV was in a unit off centre and away from the bed so you couldn't really watch TV in bed..that staple of the hotel bedroom!
