How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Anything I could say here would be too petty. It's only against the near perfection of White Birds that a few VERY minor flaws stood out. I still can't say enough good things about the house and owner.
The townhouse was neat as a pin. Paraic was very communicative and very helpful. Hehad a lot of suggestions, from activities to restaurants. The stocked pantry was a nice touch. As for location, it couldn't have been better--close to everything without being in the press of the businesses. There's a traditional, and very quiet, pub with music 3 doors down across the street. We can't recommend this place highly enough. You'll have no worries with Paraic!

The house is beautiful, Paraic couldn’t have been more helpful with travel suggestions and recommendations for the area. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

No possibility at all in the bathroom for hanging towels/ clothes… A few hooks would be very welcome.
Location in the middle of Sligo town but very quiet all the same. Property was very clean and well maintained. Car park within easy walking distance. Pay & display in the street. All essentials such as tea, milk, sugar, salt pepper… were supplied.

Minor but another bathroom downstairs would be a great addition

Only very minor things : would have liked to have shampoo/shower gel provided, some hangers in the bathroom for towels, and the shower door doesn’t close completely
Very spacious and cozy, the owner was very nice and welcoming, even left us some delicious cake. Great value for money.

What a find in Sligo! White Birds Townhouse was just fantastic. A very spacious house in a traditional terraced street. The decor and furnishings are so well thought out and facilities are second to none. Games, books, TV channels. I just wished we were staying longer.

The location was ideal, close to town. The host was prompt to respond on arrival, and gave us lots of helpful information in regards to dining, pubs, music. The place was sparkling clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated and loved the extra touches in regards to the kitchen. Would highly recommend. Car park extremely close and inexpensive. Great experience!

Paraic was very helpful with everything we needed even though we were arriving late. The house was spotlessly clean, has everything you need and Paraic had even left a delicious cake which was greatly appreciated! Couldn't recommend the place enough.

Nothing- everything was great.
Great location but not in a noisy area. Kitchen seemed to be well equipped but our trip was short and we ate out, so didn’t really use it. Paraic was great, gave us top tips for the area and was warm and welcoming.

Lovely flat near town centre with easy parking nearby. Paraic is a very generous host and provided everything we needed, plus extras. We really enjoyed our stay.

As a group of 5 with 1 bathroom and having to heat the water for showers, was probably the only thing. Not even a complaint, we just needed to try plan
Location was excellent, so central to town and easy access to Sligo County. Plenty of space for us as a group of 5. We didn't cook but kitchen appeared to be well equipped and we loved having a coffee machine. No designated car space but plenty of parking around so no issue. We would stay again. A giant bean bag is now on the children's wish list!
