How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The location was superb...the staff friendly and always helpful..the breakfast buffet was excellent with fresh fruits and plentiful options. We would recommend.full heartedly.

The water pressure of the shower was a bit intense.
Loved the delicious breakfast. The staff at the hotel was so friendly and helpful.

the elevator was not workin on the day we arrived so I had to take the luggage up on the stairs, staff helped us though. Luckliy it was fixed in a couple of days!
Location is really good within Kilkenny, lots of restraunts nearby and around 10 mins walk to the nearest train station. The attractions are very close by. Rooms are clean and acceptable size for the place. Staff is really friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very well located and nicely decorated. The cocktail lounge was lovely with a variety of specialty cocktails to discover. The breakfast was a good way to start the next day. Kilkenny is a very charming town and I wish we had more time to explore.

it would have been better if the lift was in working order; we were not advised of that when booking, but immediately thereafter and the staff did offer to help take bags to the second floor

Absolutely nothing. It was great in everyday
The male manage at reception was excellent. The staff in the restaurant were lovely. Knowledgeable and so helpful. The night poter was so charming

Shower was a little cold in the morning but that’s really it. Everything else was awesome
The lady at the front desk absolutely made our day. She was so incredible, accommodating and just all around a pleasant person.

This place was fabulous! Staff were exceptional and the location was prime for exploring Kilkenny by foot. I would definitely recommend Zuni to anyone and definitely be sure to eat at their restaurant! Food and service was top notch, but still affordable for two weary travelers on a budget.

Great location, amazing staff, on site excellent restaurant and bar plus the best breakfast possible. An added bonus is that the hotel is just a very short walking distance from the Ormond Street bus stop from the direct Dublin Airport bus lines and to and from other cities. Super handy and made airport arrival and departure to our next destination very easy and stress free. Check out time of noon also allowed us more time before our departure.

The staff were absolutely brilliant. From the moment we arrived when the person at reception welcomed us, we felt that the staff were there to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable which it was. The room was perfect, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and again the staff were so friendly and accommodating.

Lift was out of order but we had received a call before arrival to advise of this. There are two floors so not alot of stairs
Beautiful hotel, excellent location. Very clean. Staff were lovely and friendly. Rooms were really nice, bed was comfy and they had a hard and soft pillow which was good to be able to choose what you would like. Cleaning staff gave us a bottle of ice cold water when they were cleaning which was a nice touch. Bar is lovely real modern.
