Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaOnly very minor things: There was a strange odour - gas of some sort - in the room. We couldn't find anyone when we checked out at 8:30 am the next day so make sure you fill out the emails they send about your check in/check out time - we had done so for check in but missed the one for check out. Plus we hadn't expected there would then be no staff around at that time. We didn't have an Israeli phone to call them but I expect that would have fixed the issue very easily. The beach access area is dated but that is not part of Camp Sahara property it seems - just good to know ahead that it's a bit of a time capsule. There are flies/bugs that bite in the evening.
The facilities exceeded what we had hoped for - clean, quiet, comfortable and just all around lovely. We were there in a heat wave (45+ degrees) but the AC worked great and the room felt very luxurious for what it was (i.e. camping). The beach access 'after hours' was a major bonus. I would book here again if only for that because evenings in the water are so much better on hot days.

SlovakiaSome visitors did not respect music restrictions and at 23:30 there was still music playing which disturbed us.
My first glamping experience at Dead Sea Camp Sahara was simply unforgettable. The luxurious tents, and breathtaking views of the Dead Sea. Watching the sunset over the Dead Sea was a highlight.

GermanyIts quite noisy when you want to sleep and staff is cleaning the area or other people pass your tent talking loudly. There is the open kitchen but you don’t find any plate, silverware, salt etc., just pots and pans.
Very nice done with the tents and super clean. The tents have fridge, freezer and aircon. Beach is ok and great to float. Staff was nice.

IsraelAlthough we personally didn’t experience too many pest issues, it’s a great idea to regularly treat the tents and bathrooms for bugs, flies and spiders.

United KingdomIt can be hard to reach by foot, especially at night. I recommend trying to arrive in daylight
Exceptionally clean, excellent and ever-present staff and I was amazed by the comfort of what in photos looks like a tent, but actually is more comfortable than most hostels I've ever stayed in. Air-con was excellent. You can also use a pool and beach at the nearby (1 minute walk) complex.

United StatesThe only thing I would change if I was the owner of the place was to offer towels for free, specially with the price charged per night. We stayed in 6 different hotels/airbnbs in this trip and payed less than Sahara and all offered towels. And I would cover the roof in the kitchen area, one night we wanted to go use the kitchen and it was raining and we couldn’t because the kitchen was not cover. Other than this two small changes, the place is wonderful.
The place was super cute and walking distance to the Dead Sea. The staff was super helpful and kind, they let us storage our bags with them while we took a three day trip to Jordan. Parking was inside the compound and very secure. Remember you are in the middle of nowhere so don’t expect for things to be around you, the nearest gas station is like 2 miles away, so bring everything you need if you don’t have a car. There is not food around the place at night time.

United StatesIt is part of a larger, much more run down complex that promised high amenities I the listing but since it was obviously low season, nothing was open or running, not the game room, not the food. We didn't want fully self contained camping and thought the amenities would come through. It appears to be situated next to a dump and smelled like it in the morning. You have to call to get service, including to get in or out.
The tents, the bathroom, the whole campus was awesome. The tents are cozy and epic, the kitchen was great, the bathrooms were great. The people were lovely.

United Kingdomthere is only one place to eat, it is an ok canteen, but prices are 1.5 times higher than in a first class restaurant in Jerusalem. there is no private bathroom in the tent, so you need to walk in the night. there is slight smell of rubber in the tent. you have to ask for towels as they ate not given to you by default, and you have to pay for them. for this kind of money you would expect more.
personal was trying to help. The beach is not bad and not too far away (some 8 minutes walk). the beds were good. the property is clean.

SingaporeIt’s just really expensive. There are no shops, restaurants or bars on the compound itself, but instead you have to go to the dilapidated resort Biankini - and that’s a mess. We tried the restaurant and they wanted to charge ILS 150 for a buffet that looked very sad. The beach was a mess too - old pieces of scaffolding wood and other damaged and unused building materials are scattered everywhere and it just looks very dirty. To come back to the expensive part - a stay in the tents set us back over ILS 800. While the tents are great, that price should give you nice surroundings and better facilities.
The tents are great. Spacious, comfortable beds, heater and AC and not very noisy.
