Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe loved the view from our balcony room into the valley below. Buffet breakfast and dinner. Beautiful and manicured gardens that had information next to them.

FrancePool and spa close at 6 pm. Hotel is not on the shore of the Dead Sea, but above. When looking down to the Dead Sea there is a barbed wire and what looks like leftover construction debris. Evening buffet is copious but not very refined.
The surrounding gardens are very beautiful. The pool area too. Breakfast buffet excellent.

SloveniaWorn out a little. For the price we paid we expected everything to be in a better shape. The doors to the rooms look like a motel (one didn't even lock) and the standard rooms too, horrible value for money for those. The deluxe rooms were much nicer so we ended upgrading one instead.
The view is beautiful, the breakfast was plentiful. Deluxe rooms were nice.

United StatesWe were not aware that children under age 16 are not allowed in the spa or even on its territory, and had to leave with our son at first. They didn’t have any alternatives for the kid - which could have been helpful. The shower cabin in the room was not sealed well and there was a puddle on the floor. We also didn’t realize the closest access to the Dead Sea was a 30 min drive away.
Mountain view from the terrace was stunning. The kibbutz grounds are very nice. The food variety for breakfast and dinner was outstanding and the dining room staff was very nice. The reception staff was very nice too. The free use of the spa with hamam made our stay much more comfortable.

IsraelWe were looking for tissues in the room...we were told "use toilet paper". WHAT HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE TISSUES IN THE ROOM?? Dinner was lovely...until we asked where was the tea. There was none. SERIOUSLY??? For the price charged for this hotel, these are serious problems. Also, the room was too basic for that price. Need more hanging space in the bathroom.

AustriaThe room was on the small side for three people.
The Ein Gedi Kibbuz Hotel is located in a truly awesome botanical garden on a hill side overlooking the Dead Sea. Breakfast and dinner are served in a central facility close to the main building of the hotel. Excellent food selection for both breakfast and dinner (150 NIS/person). From the hotel, several hikes in the nearby Wadis are within reach (the parking lot for Wadi Arugot NP can be seen from the hotel promenade toward the northwest).

IsraelPool closes too early. During the day, when you're away from the grounds, it's open. When you return to spend the evening at the hotel, pool is already closed. Really, my only complaint.

We enjoyed our stay and it was a perfect choice for family. The hotel is located within kibbutz and is surrounded by lush botanical garden. You get access to a large pool, spa and entertainment. It's also close to national parks.

IrelandWell as with 95% of Israelis their customer service is poor to non existent. By European standards theyd all be sacked. But that's not unique to this place. The room for the big price paid wasnt great. The shower was leaky and the bathroom wasn't clean, black mould on the shower door. The air con was very loud. The Kibbutz is isolated from any restaurants and their own 2 restaurants are grand but limited.
The location was excellent. The experience of being on a famous Kibbutz was good. The chalet was located around a lovely green botanical area. The breakfasts were very good, a large choice. Having a big well looked after pool was great and much appreciated. Also it is within an easy drive of Masada.
