Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNoise from outside well past midnight, cats on terrace where breakfast is served, same breakfast, very old building and everything very badly needs upgrading. No elevators. Have to climb stairs to walk and take your luggage. Rooms very small. Old cots and beds. No TV or phones.

PolandNothing. I actually thought we would only sleep here and that's all, but it turned out that here it is much better than I expected.
It was really awesome to stay here. I was here together with parents for 3 nights. The staff, Muhammad (I hope I wrote his name correctly) gave me information how to get to Tel Aviv without using taxi and where to take very in detail during jewish new year's period. Some people mentioned the facility is a bit old , but our room was perfect. I like the mattress, it was cozy and bed sheets were clean. And breakfast was another plus. We could drink capsule coffee! Kitchen was nice. I made simple sandwiches before our trip in the kitchen and there were 3 dinner tables. People cooked and ate there. You can get hot and cold water here. Terrace was nice 👍 Very near to the tram stop. Also reception worked till late so we managed to check in around 11 30 pm. Normally I don't leave reviews but I would like to, since now I'm on the shared taxi to go to Tel aviv I wish your business goes well and if I have any chance to visit Jerusalem I will definitely book here again Thank you 🙏

BrazilFar too noisy. There is no sound isolation, so if your room is in the street side impossible to rest.

NetherlandsThe very small bathroom and the smell from the toilet, but it was okay and doable.
Lovely boutique hotel/ hostel. We had our private room with balcony at the street side. So we could sit in the sun and have our view on the square. Good breakfast, lovely staff (gave us good advice).

AustraliaI came to Jerusalem to meet my family and friends during Biblical holidays. After The holidays ended we've seen a big homosexual flag on the rooftop of the hostel. Great disappointment for people who came to Israel to worship the living God.

South AfricaThe stairs were a challenge but I had been informed that I would need to climb flights of stairs. It would have been good to have some milk in the fridge for use in the evening. There were not enough mugs in the kitchen!
It was very central on Jaffa Street with the Light-Rail convenient to travel towards the Old City and to the other stops even went as far as Mount Hertzl . Room was Okay and most of the others were friendly. Breakfast was good on the roof area.

IndiaThe boiled eggs and hot water could have been warm that last day. The other days were fine.
It is in a great location on Jaffa road and you can use the light rail for most sight seeing. All the complaints I read have some truth in them but all-in-all if you are looking for a no-frills, low-key, budget place, it is great. It is a bit run down but the rooms are clean, it is a bit noisy but it is fun to hear the musicians play in the square, the bathroom is tiny, but adequate, and the breakfast is a bit sparse and sometimes cold, but also adequate. We were there twice and would go again.

Very responsive and courteous staff. Location was just near the tram hence commuting from the airport was quick and economical. The room was very clean, I had opted for 2 double beds and a bunk bed. Very clean set up and the sheets and blankets all have white coverings and that is very impressive and hygienic and that impressed us the most. Best of all the shared kitchen is accessible 24/7 as we can cook as we go.

GhanaAll perfect.
We had a great stay at Jerusalem hostel, we had a room for 4 with 1 double bed and one bunk bed and a beautiful balcony. Breakfast is served at the roof top and was delicious with pita bread, hummus, eggs, cucumber, tomatoes, jam, cereals. Location is close to the Old Town. Would definitely recommend staying there!

United StatesOverall the room was a bit small and the shower cramped. I'm just saying a little updating would be invaluable. I was not told the parking was pay only.....I was told in an email there was parking but they neglected to say it was a block away and was a pay lot. This would not have prevented me from staying but the info would have been more helpful for expectations.
For the most part, the staff were very helpful. Most couples in their 70's like us are picky but realizing the location in the newer part of Jerusalem makes the stay a lot more unique for its culture.
