Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelIt's a very affordable 3 star hotel, so the rooms are basic, though they provide everything you'd need. The shower was brilliant. They only serve breakfast but you can barbecue and buy food in the local shop, or drive to a restaurant near by.
Perfect for little ones with a no fuss breakfast with plenty of choices, 2 fantastic playgrounds for ages 0-12. One had slides and swings, the other had more musical instruments and rope climbing. There was a shaded baby pool and the shallow area of the grown up, heated pool, was also shaded. The kibbutz is absolutely stunning with incredible views and a 5 minute drive to the dead sea, and only 30 min to Jerusalem. Kids loved it.

CanadaThe beach is situated 7 km away from the kibbutz. It wasn't clearly explained that I could have breakfast, check out, and then go to the beach. I'll do things in this order next time.
It's a great place to stay: quiet and clean. There's a conveniently located mini-market where you can get small items, snacks, soft drinks, and, if desired, alcohol. They also offer good breakfast options.

GermanyKalia is a perfect place if you want to have a genuine Dead Sea Experience and visit Masada and/or Qumran at your leisure. It is an obvious choice for a first night or couple of nights when arriving by plane from abroad, as it can be easily reached by car on a first day of travel. The very good beach is free for hotel guests and very comfortable. Golf cart shuttles make it accessible for everyone. We liked the terrace under the trees that came with our room. The breakfast was very generous too. The staff was very friendly and helpful, as during our earlier stays there. Nice atmosphere, very good experience.

NorwayThe nearest restaurant (as well as the Dead Sea) were 7 km away. Therefore challenging without a rental car. Several guests (the majority was children) served themselves with their hands at the breakfast buffet.

United StatesSome of the staff weren't super helpful. One of the couples in our group had a bunch of ants in their room (but the staff moved them to a bigger room). The bathroom got super wet after any shower as there wasn't a fan or a full shower curtain. It would be nice if they could keep the pool open for longer hours each day, it is only open from 10am-6pm.
The breakfast was delicious. The staff member manning the front desk when we arrived was also really helpful in helping us get food for dinner from a nearby restaurant, since we didn't have a car and couldn't speak Hebrew.

IsraelThe beach was not private (as they advertise), many people just drove in, so don't expect this to be a private besch for the hotel guests. The beach itself is not easily accessible with a stroller, it goes down very low, and at some points it has only stairs. The swimming area is small. The nightstands were probably broken or very strange to say the least. There was no hair dryer.
The staff was very responsive and nice, and the pool was great. The suite was spacious, it also had all the necessary equipment for cooking.

IsraelOff season don't expect to eat at the kibbutz except for breakfast. Swimming pool closes much too early. There's a nice restaurant called Me Casa where you can have lunch and supper a dozen km over. Otherwise don't expect much in terms of food. The food shop has only basics.
Good value for money. We asked for a room for 2 and got a suite with a couch that opens. Price is very reasonable off season.
