Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelStained towels, stain or rost in the sink (nothing aweful though, but still unpleasant), some dirt inside the fridge, you better don't look under your bed. Other things (like shower door, floor and mirrow) were very clean though. This said, I still loved to stay at Shani's, because other factors, except cleaning, are great. Fix that and you are 10 stars!
Great and comfortable room, very friendly stuff, it is a real hotel with very good standards. Very comfortable bed with many pillows, great size of the room, awesome view of the city from the 6th floor, great value for money, city center. With windows closed there was no noise, very quite. The lobby is very welcoming, with coffee, cookies and great tea selection. I had overall a great night and felt peaceful and quite in the middle of the downtown. Thank you!

United StatesThe room does not have enough lighting in the room or the bathroom. The jacuzzi did not work and the tub is slippery. The sink faucet was loose. Being on the first floor facing the pedestrian walk way, it was very noisy until very late. We go to bed late, so it wasn't an issue, but for some, it might be. A table with 2 chairs would be a nice addition.
The location is excellent. The staff is very attentive. The hotel and rooms are very clean. The breakfasts have a wide variety of options.

PolandDespite room and hotel was tastefully decorated, dirt was everywhere which defenitey lowers the rating of the hotel. It looks like bathroom tiles were never cleaned, similar to windows. Moreover apartment was cold and qute noisy (on March when temperature outside was 10 degree). There was no hair dryer in the room however it was possible to borrow it from the reception.
Breakfast was very good, staff very kind, location is great, coffe in the hall is something unusual but perfect idea! Man on the reception was very helpful, agreed to check in earlier than we should, so we could go and visit City as soon as arrived to Jerusalem with no additional luggages.

TurkeyPictures of rooms here at Booking simply do not match the reality. We stayed in room 207 - it needs a renovation. There is a mildew on walls and near the window, furniture is outdated with some items broken (the drawer by the bedside table did not close). The room was dark and dusty. We were unwilling to spend much time in our room especially because of our toddler (mildew and dust for him was bad for him especially) and overall had a sense of being misled by the photos of rooms. I wouldn’t pick this hotel should I see actual state of rooms.
The hotel is very good located, walking distance from the old city, has a friendly staff - both at the reception and breakfast place. Coffee and biscuits at the reception desk were very nice addition.

RomaniaThe noise from the room (because there is a pub and there is noise from that pub). The windows were not clean and the window was not closing properly and probably because of that also the noise was louder. The hotel looks older (at least the staircase).
The location is very good, close to Mahane Yehuda market, close to Jaffa Street and Old City of Jerusalem. I liked the breakfast, multiple options to choose from, most of the food was the same everyday, but sometimes there were some new meals in the breakfast (e.g pancake). I liked the lobby, with sofa and that there was tea and coffe in the lobby

Value for money, superb location close to jaffa street with easy commute to the old city. Before arrival, the hotel had made contact via WhatsApp 1 week before arrival and requested whether we had any special requirements. Was very impressed however when we arrived, the reception staff kept a straight face however checkin went smoothly. The room was clean, had 2 bottles of water, another plus. The breakfast was also a good spread. Plenty to choose from. The room was big and spacious too

Czech RepublicTo be honest, i think the worse about this hotel was their whattsapp communication. Its just over too much. I have never experience like this and to be honest, its annoying. Messages after booking, asking for "faster online booking", messages after first night, second night, when you leave - and if you wrote that is over too much messages, they didnt even answer (only robot) :-) All that stuff could be done when you check in and check out. Please do something with that. Best regards, Jan

IsraelThe area gets very noisy at night, especially on the side facing the pub! You're in the heart of the city. Also, the amenities in the rooms are inconsistent. We paid the same price for 3 rooms but only one had a bathtub. Only one had an easy chair. Not all had lamps. I wish the rooms had been more consistent, but overall, this was a great stay. I will add that this was the coldest part of the year and the rooms were heated by little radiators that left things feeling a little chilly at times.
Amazing location, and the best price we could find in the heart of Jerusalem! I was pleasantly surprised by almost every aspect of this little hotel. Rooms were comfortable and we all had a few excellent nights' sleep. Those of us who had breakfast were astonished by the excellent quality. Would definitely stay here again! Staff were by and large quite friendly. And it's a lovely touch having hot drinks available 24/7 at the front entrance.
