Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelLarge price discrepancy between the price listed on the Booking.com site and what we actually paid, due to local taxes. This should be much clearer on your site, especially as you can see that we were connected from an Israeli address.
The hotel was lovely, the staff helpful, the room clean and the breakfast fresh and generous.

IsraelBreakfast: At breakfast the coffee was really bad (bitter, cold) and the hot water pot was also cold. Fortunately the machine produced hot water for the coffee we made from our own coffee packs (Taster's Choice). The sliced bread was taken from the freezer and was cold inside. We did not see a toaster to warm it up. No cereal.
Our bathroom's floor was flooded with soap water, very slippery and dangerous. We had to change the room, the one we got was smaller than the first. The receptionist, Katya, was very helpful and changed the room immediately.

IsraelThe wifi worked partially - it appears to be blocking some services (esp. Netflix) and allowing others, which was annoying and disappointing.
The staff was friendly, the room was very clean and cozy, free parking was relatively easy to find, and the price was right.

Wonderful boutique hotel, very tastefully restored and refurbished. High ceilings, old authentic floor tiles, feel like you're in a nice hotel in the 1930s or 1940s without it feeling aged. Breakfast was excellent. Good location, helpful staff.

United StatesLooking at reviews beforehand, we knew it might be a little noisy at night, but that aspect was worse than we anticipated. We were unlucky -- we happened to be there during a 4-day Arab holiday, which for some strange reason led some cars and motorcycles to parade up and down the main road in front of the hotel after about 10 pm, honking their horns, revving their engines, and playing their radios loudly. It quieted down somewhat after about 11 pm but continued until about midnight. With respect to the location, it is a short walk to the Baha'i garden as their site mentions, but that is at the bottom of the hill and the tours all start at the top of the hill. So, a nice view of the gardenn but figure on driving to the top of the hill or taking a taxi to the location on where the tour starts -- it is a very steep hill! Otherwise, the location is fine.
The room was very nice, as was the staff. The breakfast was a nice buffet with a wide range of options to choose from. There are lots of nice restaurants nearby and you can easily find free parking within a block or two of the hotel.

United StatesMiki the manager, was extremely rude. On the day of checkout, he called my room to inform me that my request for late checkout had been denied and that I had 10 minutes to leave the room. I asked him for more time because I have an elderly lady staying with me, he didnt listen at all. He yelled, "ten minutes and you're out," and then hung up on me. Please take note that I have informed a receptionist that I require a two-hour late checkout because my mother does not feel well in the morning. The rest of the staff, including the cleaners, were courteous, accommodating, and extremely helpful, but he is a poor role model and does not value customer service.

Israel1. The receptionist that accepted us did not smile even once and was impatient, to begin with (when we left, another receptionist was nice). 2. We were surprised that we had to add VAT to the price. 3. The room was claustrophobic, with a small window and you must stand to see the view: a “piece” of sea behind the buildings. 4. There was a problem with electricity in the room: one of the sockets near the bed did not work and when we pulled out the cable out – the socket also went out of the wall. 5. Other sockets are not convenient: for instance – the kettle on the table – its cable is not long enough to reach the socket nearby. Or – one is behind the sofa. 6. When the floor in the shower gets wet and won’t dry for hours and so it’s dangerous. Plus – inside the shower – there is nowhere to hold and nowhere to place a shampoo. They really need to consider knobs for safety. 7. Breakfast: nothing vegan ☹
The location is in the old city of Haifa. Nice, but we didn't find a way to walk to the beach, although it's very close.

IsraelThe faucet in the bathroom was leaking. The toilets kept filling up every 3 minutes (I had to turn off the water coming in it to stop hearing the sound all night). A window was just above our heads, with bad curtains. At 5:46am our heads were under the July sun. We had to flip on the other side of the bed to finish our night. Outside of the hotel, some people talked loudly until 2am, so it makes quite a small night. The price indicated in the booking was for foreigners only passing by only. The additional taxes made the night 20% more expensive then sent by booking.com
People were nice. The situation is convenient, although in a very loud area, especially on Friday night

Israelit’s our second staying at this special boutique hotel. but our feeling is that the management runs it without really creating a boutique atmosphere or really cares. the rooftop that is the perfect place to spend time looks clean but with almost no furnitures, make you feel uninvited. the hotel was full of children but there wasn’t any thought about a f children friendly food. no freshly cut vegetables or omelette, basically a lot of fish salads. I’m sure that if someone had thought about it, there could have been some cosher pancakes. again no one tried… in our room, bathroom was not cleaned properly and there wasn’t enough towels. when I asked for 2 towels, they brought me one.
perfectly located, marvellous view from the rooftop. small and intimate.
