How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A very nice and quiet accommodation on a former farm. In the summer, they have more horses than in winter that you can pet or feed (ask the staff first!). There is also a small canyon nearby with different waterfalls. Very nice for a short morning or evening walk. The staff was very friendly. :)

The place is amazing , staffs are excellence . we travelled there in the day with bad weather so we messaged to them and bothered them all day before we arrive. They provided information completely and promptly. when we arrived, we felt like we arrive home with warm welcome. They also provided bread, jam, coffee , warm tea for free of charge. Really felt like home and luckily we saw the great vibes of northern light hear. Amazing. Miss the place already.

The guesthouse is isolated from other villages and might be difficult if you need to buy something. However a gas station is close by and the host informed me beforehand, so we were prepared.
The guesthouse is really cosy, has a well equipped kitchen, and great bedrooms and showers. The host and housekeeper are very welcoming and thoughtful. They go the extra mile by providing you with basic necessities for simple cooking and a light breakfast. Finally, despite not being in a village, this provides me with an excellent location for my journey around Iceland.

The location was perfect since we were stuck in a blizzard and we were happy to find a room so close and comfy, really happy to arrive and the staff helped us get safely to our parking and into the room.

The bathroom wasn’t that clean, and there is no cupboard/wardrobe in a room to store your stuff. The location is a bit hard to find, however it’s on the way from Akureyri to Reykjavik and in the end you can find it with the correct guidelines from the host. Make sure to bring some groceries cuz there is only a gas station nearby.
It was a nice farm stay. It was okay for a one night stay. There is a shared kitchen, two shared bathrooms, a well equipped library and a massage chair hah! The kitchen is well equipped and a little breakfast (such as yogurt and museli) is offered. We felt like at our grandmas house which was very cute! The host was helpful and overall the stay was decent.

Overall, the house was good, providing a cozy and comfortable stay. However, we encountered a inconvenience due to the snow not being promptly cleared from the path leading to the house. This resulted in our car getting stuck in the snow and requiring assistance. I would advise future winter guests to inquire about the thickness of snow in front of the property in advance to avoid getting stuck as well.

you need a car without doubt, maybe a bit of jam and toast in the kitchen would have been nice! but i loved the teas!
Lovely place, there are horses and waterfall outside. The place is cozy, and the common area are also really nice! Rooms are well heated and the staff is really kind and friendly. you can see the love for the place and for the country

The "breakfast" was just half a box of cornflakes and a half liter of milk to be split among around 9 people. Don't count on it. Bring your own.

I was of the impression this guesthouse had only 3 rooms, that was my error. There are 6 rooms. They were all full the night we stayed. So, there were 12 people and 2 bathrooms. Fixing dinner was ok, but in the morning the kitchen was packed!!!! With only 8 chairs and very little room to move around, much less cook. We ended up fixing a coffee and sitting in the library until the kitchen cleared out.
The host lives right there on the property. It was convenient to have him available to answer questions. He was extremely pleasant and conversant. It had kitchen facilities for cooking and refrigeration. Coffee pods and tea and other basic food items for breakfast were provided. There is an N1 within view of the guesthouse , if you need some food or basic supplies.

Not too much to see or do. A few waterfalls, beautiful though!
Good location en route for example if you are travelling from Reykjavik to northern Iceland or vice versa. Very peaceful even if it's fully booked! Breakfast was a very nice surprise! Gas station nearby, also serving food. Open till late.

My budget needed a Cheeper place to stay. Was unsure how the shared bathroom would go. But it was not a problem at all. The younger people were were very respectful of us seniors.
Very near an N1 with excellent soup. Loved hiking the property back to waterfalls.
