Slightly unpleasant odour from bath water

Great location, plenty of off-street parking spaces (when we looked for a nearby car park, there were 4 out of, say, 30 spaces available), nice service and a very tasty breakfast in the house next door. The host informed us that it was free to take our bikes for a ride, and clearly explained all the necessary procedures.

We had an amazing stay, the kitchen facilities were top class, we really appreciated the hot drink selection after a long day tour. The room was spacious, warm, comfortable and clean. Everything I would ask for in a guesthouse!!

Beautiful room located a 10 minute walk from Downtown Reykjavik - we could see Hallgrímskirkja from our room window. The beds were cosy, and the tea/coffee and fresh smoothies in the kitchen were a lovely touch. Would definitely stay again.

My room was positioned between the kitchen and the bathroom and so I could hear the other tenants both late and early.

Freya Guesthouse was comfortable and well situated for the tourist attractions of Reykjavik. The neighbourhood is quiet. The host is on site and easy to get ahold of. The kitchen was comfortable. The bathroom/shower was basic but good enough.

Location was superb - just a 5mins walk to the main shopping street in Reykjavik. Room was spacious, had a huge TV with all the main streaming apps installed. Shared bathroom was really clean too. Complimentary smoothie was a plus!

Nothing at all, I loved this place!

It was safe, very clean, simple but very comfortable accommodations for an excellent price. It is in a wonderful location near the main cathedral, so you can go anywhere from there; yet it’s just a bit tucked away so it’s quiet and cozy and quaint. The kitchen had everything you could need to make some soup or store lunch provisions in the fridge.

The location and the free parking are great. The owners are very kind. Check in and check out was great. There's a kitchen, where you can cook your own meals. Very close to the City center. We enjoyed our stay!

The walls were very thin and you could hear every single word the neighbours said. It was not only inconvenient during the night or early morning if you wanted to sleep, but also in the evening I felt weird hearing all the details of the talks, or knowing someone can hear me or be bothered by my activity. The bathrooms were kept as clean as possible, however they need renovation - the only renovated one (featured in the photos) was upstairs, and the shower area ceiling there was so low it was uncomfortable even for me (1.65m tall woman). Although the room was generally clean, the floor under my bed was really dusty at the arrival, what might be inconvenient for someone with allergies.

The location was very convenient - close to the city centre and Hallgrímskirkja, as well as the bus station and bus stop #8 which is a pick-up point for many tours. The staff was really nice, and the provided smoothies were a really nice surprise. Room was spacious enough for one person to stay, probably would be fine for two people as well.

Didn't like the smell of the hot water whilst showering. It does smell like rotten eggs, however this is a thing in iceland as the hot water naturally comes from volcanic activity and not the hotels fault. Just wasn't prepared for it when i got in the shower 😂😂

Loved the accommodation. Very welcoming. Stayed hered for 5 nights. Great location not far away from what you'll want in town. Even got to see the northern lights just outside. Would deffo recommend staying here

owners were really nice. they lent me an adapter for my electronics, even after I left - this was incredibly helpful for the rest of my trip! they were very responsive and easy to reach. great value and location!

Beds were extremely comfy and neighbourhood so quiet yet right in centre. We slept very well and family hosts were friendly. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it. Free coffee, cake and yummy smoothie each day was also a great hospitable touch! Also loved the chill out room on top floor. A great place to stay!
