Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location is very convenient for touring the city. The staff is incredibly friendly and kind. We really appreciated how helpful they were! It really felt like they wanted their guests to have all they might need to explore - from guidebooks and coupons to free bikes and good recommendations. The rooms were charming and comfortable and I loved the little sparkling kitchen with coffee and smoothies.

United KingdomGood location, neat and tidy place. We stayed in the Family Suit which had private toilet and bathroom. It was good for a family of 4 with 2 young children. The suite has underfloor heating and the hosts were gracious to stock up the kitchen with good coffee, tea and milk to start with. We had a magnificent view of the church from the window and could walk up to it in about 2 minutes. Also very close to cheap super markets, Restaurants and if you prefer pubs. Overall we had a lovely experience and would highly recommend it.

United StatesThe shower was a little hard to figure out at first and the shower head kept moving towards the wall instead of staying put where I adjusted it.
We only spent one night but it was great to rest up and shower after almost 30 hours of traveling. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was clean. The best part is the location though, walking distance to everything we wanted to see!

VietnamAbsolutely nothing, I cannot find any faults at all!!!
A beautiful family run guesthouse where they go above and beyond to make your stay special. It was spotlessly clean and bursting with facilities, fresh made smoothies and cake (complimentary) every day. And an absolutely stunning view of the church and a location that could not be better placed. A kitchen for guest use made this stay so easy for bringing a meal in, a little garden area for soaking up the quiet reflection of the area and a coffee shop next door. Ingo and his family have created a calm, welcoming beautiful space and the love they have for the place oozes through. We felt like we were friends and not customers, and even provided a cake for my husbands birthday at a very last minute request!! Situated in a quiet location that is a very short walk from a key bus stop (8) and all the sights just moments away. We were given a little book on arrival with lots of vouchers in and saved so much money on food due to this, it was invaluable!! We had actually booked a guesthouse up the road which was dire, and in a desperate attempt to save our holiday booked here. We could not have made a better decision and Freyja saved our holiday and provided us the treat we wanted after so much stress. Thank you so much Freyja for all you do and did for us.. we will be back!!

NetherlandsYou need to share a bathroom with the others on your floor, but it's not that big of a problem
Excellent location, just around the corner from the Hallgrímskirkja. My room was huge and very clean. I really liked the shared kitchen. We even got smoothies for free every day, that was so lovely! Would definitely stay here again

United KingdomThe only small thing was that the bathroom floor flooded easily on one of the days.
We loved the location and our room was absolutely wonderful. The kitchen was well appointed and we liked the smoothies and coffee pods. The toiletries in the bathroom were a really nice touch. The staff were so helpful and kind and we had a lovely conversation with them on the first morning which really helped us plan our day. We also had a nightmare flying into Iceland during bad weather, so arrived in the middle of the night; the check in instructions could have not have been smoother meaning we were able to go straight to sleep which was much appreciated. Final tip - if you get a chance to visit the Sundhöllin pool and thermal bath, it's only a 5-10 min walk away and a superb treat at the end of a day of exploring!

United KingdomThe only suggestion I would make is to have an additional stand alone toilet as there was a bit of an 8am rush on the loos and we had to wait for people to finish showering, but not a major problem.
A really lovely home from home guesthouse in the perfect location. Easy walking distance from BSI terminal and bus stop 8. Friend, helpful staff, fully equipped kitchen with nice touches such as the delicious daily smoothies, quality teas and coffee and a rather tasty cake. Our room was large and comfortable and the shared bathroom clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries.

FinlandThere is no soundproofing, but luckily everyone was quiet. But you can hear everything from other rooms. Room was a bit dusty. Two bathrooms for 10 rooms is not enough, but they are building more.
