The hot tube outside, quiet and calm. The lovely ladies working at the hotel. The beautiful horses nearby. The simplicity of the hotel, warm, easy. Perfect spot for a digital nomad, for a retreat and of course for horse riding lovers.

As accomodation lies on volcanic hot spring area we've enjoyed especially hot tub even in very windy weather and heated floors.

Great place for family vacations involving horseback riding, but also a great place to spend some quiet time and decompress. We used it to recover from jet-lag for a couple of days. Breakfast was fabulous. Dinners were also great, albeit expensive.

There neded to be more light in the room. The whole bathroom floor gets very wet after a shower. Ii did not ask for, or want a handicap room, yet we were given one. There was nowhere in the bathroom to put my stuff.

Beatiful cosy place, loads of historical photos on the hallway walls, very nice books about icelandic nature and also wonderful icelandic wool blankets on bed :) Our stay was very nice :)

It seems that not many hotels in Iceland have laundry facilities and there wasn’t a refrigerator in the room for our supplies.

We stayed here for two nights. Our room was comfortable and warm. We were situated right next to the hot tub which was an added bonus. The breakfast was fantastic.

When showering, whether in the morning or evening, it would take many minutes before the water is warm. Once warm, it's a great shower.

Our arrival and check-in went good, really nice staff. Breakfast is great, very diverse and 10 stars for the wafle iron! The room is not too big, but big enough. Clean. Not a great view, but plenty of highlights in the surroundings (waterfalls, hot springs or geiser). The Islandic horses are beautiful and you can go to the stable to pet them. Really great feature! Also they give a discount for guests to go horse riding. The people at the stable are also very friendly and helpful.

The rooms were very warm, we needed the window to be open all the time.

An exceptionally well run hotel. Fantastic staff. Really delicious breakfast and nice evening meal options. Great lounge area to relax in with books, games and free refreshments. Warm comfy rooms. It’s a horse riding hotel and there is lots of opportunity for petting the horses. We stayed three nights as part of a weeks trip and wouldn’t change a thing. The nearby town is also great for food and swimming.

No fridge in room - not much of a problem . There is not much to fault here and I would deffinately return . I stayed in April and temp outside was chilly, inside was toasty warm

We had a triple room and the third bed was a sofa bed (armchair) that was not very comfortable. There were no night tables and the room was a bit tight for 3 people.

Friendly welcome and easy access to the rooms. We had a very tasty dinner at three restaurant.

We loved this hotel and it was perfect for our trip.

We loved this hotel! The staff were really helpful and friendly and the location was perfect! Breakfast was also delicious. We were lucky to see the northern lights from our hotel room every night of our stay which was amazing, so the location is absolutely perfect. It’s also close to some lovely towns with great restaurants and activities. It’s the perfect locations for doing the golden circle tour and is only 15/20 minutes drive from the lava tunnel! It’s also great value for money.

The location is perfect! Staff were truly so kind and helpful. Our room had a door to go outside which makes it convenient when you’re waiting for northern lights sightings. The hot tub was super relaxing. The hotel is also close to a small town from where you can walk 3,5 km to natural hot springs. We highly recommend this! Everything was perfect!!

The facility may look older at first sight, but don't let yourself to be fooled.

Eldhestar has beautiful location close to Reykjadalur and is located directly by Hringvegur. The room is equipped with Hastens beds, you get one of the best sleeping experience in Iceland. As we had to leave early, we get very good breakfast-to-go package prepared beforehands. The service is always good at Eldhestar.

Stayed in the family room, very spacious, en-suite bath, heated floor, direct access outside to a large terrace and close to the hot tub. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good price. Good breakfast. Nice location. Highly recommended.
