Sulfuric smell/taste of the water. Check-in process confusing.

No human interaction, but it was winter and there was a storm with closed roads so it wasn't that suprising. Also the restaurant was closed.

I usually stay at the guesthouse but this time I tried the Apartments which is located a bit higher up. The place was empty so it was awesome! The room was big, with a very spacious bathroom with a real bath! Not very practical but it was fun :) The bed was big and comfy and the whole place/location is really quiet. The view was also nice: residential street with only a few houses and the sea on one side, the mountains on the other side. Although there was no common area where you can cook and eat, I appreciated to complimentary tea/coffee and the fact that there was a individual fridge and a boiler in the room, allowing for some (very) minimal meals. It's not an issue, there are a few restaurants in Blönduós. The road were closed the next day but the owner allowed to stay until a few hours after the checkout time without extra, that was a nice gesture.

View to the cemetery (didn’t bother us much but it’s a bit weird) Bed linen had a smoke smell (like it was dried near a fireplace); it was impossible to use hot tap water because water it really stink (like most of the hot tap water in Iceland but worst)

There were no extra pillows or blankets. There was a threatening and unpleasant sign on the wall about all kind of additional charges if the apartment wasn't kept clean.

The apartment was extremely nice, well equipped and spacious.

- wifi and tv signal didn’t work (was mentioned by previous guests as well. note on a paper) - door to the balcony could not be locked.

The screens on the windows are not secured so many flies enter. We arranged the netting on the windows to cover better and that did help.

Very spacious! We liked the little balcony, big windows, good blackout drapes for summer nights. The hosts, although we didn't meet them were always pleasant and quick to respond if we messaged them.

WiFi didn't work. I believe the hosts will have been aware of this before my stay as someone had previously wrote on the A4 page giving the password, that the WiFi didn't work. Next to a graveyard, but once I settled in that didn't bother me. Not much going on in the town.

Lots of space, warm and quiet and comfortable. Good facilities.

They ask for extra money to pay at the end of the stay if guests don't wash the dishes, very strange for such an expensive price

The stairs to second floor were many but we knew this in advance.

The bathroom was huge with a large claw foot tub. The bedroom had a TV, and microwave. Only couple minute drive to good restaurant.

The place seemed very old and a bit dirty, like dusty. There were lots of signs everywhere telling you that if you dirtied or broke something you would have to pay for it, which felt a bit harsh. They asked to clean the cups and spoons that were there but nothing was there to use for cleaning, no sponge no soap. I think the room could be put into better use by adding a small kitchen with accessories, as there is plenty of space.

The room was very big and had a little fridge and kettle. The bathroom had a nice bathtub and was very big as well.

Sewerage smell came from the shower and the sink in the bathroom. Flies in the apartment. Outside the building is poorly maintained. It should have been mentioned that the property is right next to a cemetery.

Spacious, and housekeeping did a good job cleaning.

This wasn’t an apartment, just a normal room in a house. No shower, just handheld shower over rolltop bath, which was slippery to stand in so we had to use one of the towels. Even though there was a curtain round, water went all over the floor. No TV channels, apart from live cam of the volcano currently erupting. Wasn’t a welcoming looking property.

We ate dinner at the guesthouse and it was fantastic. The cook was a very nice Polish lady and we highly recommend the Schnitzel as she has created her own version and we loved it.

Too many with a few like: entrance has overflowing dustbin, family suite overlook a graveyard, Booking.com did not send door entry pin code, old tired apartment furnished with mix match of furniture, when you walk in smell of oil from frying, oven not clean, no bedsheets instead it is mattress protector, bad maintenance like crack window, limited utensils, no cereal bowls, butter knives sharper than kitchen knives, bathroom electrical socket missing cover, except for someone left over shampoo no toiletries, kitchenware like single oven tray crack etc

The whole place was quite dirty. There were tons of flies inside the apartment (I'm not talking about one or 2, I'm talking about a few dozen fairly large flies). While the whole place is large, everything was done in a super inconvenient way - eg. the shower is tiny, there are no electrical plugs near the bed, the kitchen felt cramped, etc.
