Nothing really.

We loved the peace and quiet. Away from everything. The cabin was more than we had expected, so clean and cosy. The bed was very comfortable and we had all that we needed. All was made even better when we had 2 clear nights and we saw the Northern Lights brilliantly. We enjoyed the drive down the valley to the cabin too.

Remember to use Waze and not Google maps. The latter does not seem to distinguish one side of the river from the other so you end up on the wrong side. If you pay attention there is an arrow indicating you need to cross a bridge in order to get to the hotel. Obviously my kids were bickering over the playlists so we drove right past it. The views are so stunning that we did not mind driving a little longer.

Cute, cozy, clean apartment set on the side of a mountain. My husband and kids insisted on buying a huge chunk of lamb ( which we lugged around in the car all day long while visiting various attractions😜) and they were thrilled to be able to grill it in the barbecue outside. The property is a little far away but the drive is very enjoyable. Lovely views and landscapes. Comfortable beds and super comfortable armchairs. Kitchenette is small but if you want to cook some breakfast there are the necessary utensils available.

While a very picturesque location, it was quite the drive from the highway. Not much of a hassle finding the place with 24 hrs daylight and Waze.

Comfortable room with everything you need. Kitchenette was well equipped and the hosts were fantastic.

The sink for washing face is tooooo small and the carpet to dry feet after shower is too small and it doesn’t absorb water well

Confusing directions. Instead we followed the Iceland road map and Google maps to the Laxárvirkjun Power Plant then took the road with signage to Laxárdalur right before the power plant to the cabin. From Akureyri we took HWY 1, left turn onto Hwy 845, right turn on 854 and then right turn onto 856 (right before power plant) into the lovely valley and on to the cabins.

Exceptionally clean and well organized little cabin. Felt brand new and owners have really thought about every detail. Comfy beds and easy chairs. High quality sheets and towels. The blinds/shades are amazing at blocking the light at night. Good hot water. Checkin was easy. Outdoor patio was nice but couldn’t use because of rain. The road coming here was fine and actually quite lovely. Very nice place for our 2 night stay.

Only thing we didn't love are the curtains. Could really use some better curtains to block out the light during the summer. Otherwise, love it!

This was our 2nd stay at the cabins. We just LOVE them. Yes, they are a 20-minute+ drive from anywhere, but we enjoy the peace and tranquility. The kitchen is small, but possible to do some light cooking (we cooked a small breakfast). The shower has a small tank, but we never ran out of hot water. Lots of windows for great natural light and a view of the valley. We just love it here.

The host was kind enough to send driving instructions in advance but they were a little confusing when compared a map. Google maps doesn’t pick up the cabins at all but I managed on Apple Maps.

The cabin was self-contained and had everything I could need for my short stay. It is close to Lake Myvatn, Húsavík and Akureyri (relatively speaking in this vast country!). Everything was clean,new and very comfy.

Never met the host during a three night stay. Would have been nice if they would have asked at some point if everything was fine. Rooms could use darker curtains

The road is 11km gravel road, but manageable without four wheel drive. An oven would have been nice to cook

The cabins are very modern with simple but stylish interior. Very remote, but the owners live next door.
