The cabin was amazing, it was very clean and comfortable and had everything you need for cooking some meals. So peaceful and quiet and quite well located for seeing the golden circle attractions and northern lights. The guy at the desk was friendly and runs a small shop on site.

Very nice wooden houses. We came in terrible cold stormy rainy wheather after Landmannslaugur (don't miss the nature hot baths there, for free!), all soaking wet and very cold. In one house there is a reception - a young man living there gave us a key. Were happy that the heating could be turned on. The houses are older, by totally nice to stay. Lovely view to a river. I loved the solution with the 2-storey sleeping area - up to 6 people can comfortly sleep in whatever combination thay like. Our kids used up all the hot water in the shower, so mind that. The kitchen was nice and had even oil, tea, coffe, salt and sugar. We were able to cook a simple supper. Some locals were living in the neighbour house - fishermen from Reykjavik :) I could also comfortably stay in these nice wooden houses for a couple of days. Oh and be careful when dring to Landmannalaugur - we had to drive through like 15 mountain rivers by car, we had Toyota Hilux, so all went well (although I personally was scared at times), but I not sure if you should risk it with something smaller (you drive like 2 hours to the first river, and I don't know what we could do if we got stuck in the middle of it). The price for the house was adaquate with appr EUR 250.

Beautiful remote location, along the river. Well equipped cottages. Kitchenette with oven! Very welcome super mini grocery store on site. Bus stop on site.Careful garbage sorting. Eco-friendly management.

The place is situated only a few minutes drive from route F225 to Landmannalaugar, which makes it very convenient to start off or to get back after a tiring day, as we did. The bonus is that the owner sells the basic groceries you need for your stay, by the unit (see pic). Otherwise the closest place to get them would be something like 30 minutes drive from there (one way...). It's not a supermarket, but it's certainly enough if you get stuck.

Bathroom. It is small, especially the wash basin.

The cabin is in a beautiful position, close to a wonderful river. Isolated in the nature, in an area where no other place is available. There are no restaurants around, but you can cook your own food in the kitchen. It was very convenient for us, as we were on the way back from Landmannalaugar, and saved us a lot of km.

It was very bright in the morning (early August) so better to bring an eye mask to sleep well, in case you are bothered by the light.

The place is magical. You are very isolated, next to a fjall and a river in a very nice cottage. We were 4 in a cottage that would normally host 8 people. However, there were 12 places for sleeping, so there was really plenty of space. We brought our own food, we had a nice dinner. The kitchen is very well equipped (no dishwasher). The host has a small mini market just for essential things, in case you forgot to buy food and you are starving. Another nice thing is that after dinner I had a "rotten shark" tasting experience with the host, together with a small glass of Icelandic snaps. Highly recommended.

The location of the cottage is beautifully set by the river. It is very quiet and perfect for someone who enjoys being in nature. it was nice to sit on the patio for dinner in the sun and enjoy the view. The kitchen is well equipped. The cottage is very bright and was perfectly clean. Staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. We would like to come back and try the hikes that are possible from the location. All in all a lovely stay.

Couldn't get an extra night when we wanted to extend

Pretty much everything was better than we expected. They don't over-promise and under-deliver; it exceeded our expectations in almost every way. It was reasonably convenient to launch a visit to Landmannalauger and the road there is mostly quite good and being improved. It is a popular location and difficult to get an extra night if you'd like to extend. Make sure to bring everything you need to eat and drink; local supplies are extremely limited

No WIFI in the rooms. Also no nets on the windows so due to the Icelandic small flies of which there are thousands in the vicinity, you can't open the ei down to ventilate the rooms.

Spacious clean room, fully equipped kitchen. The double deck beds seemed dubious at first but they turned out to be very comfortable.
