Room 7 didn’t have a single bed so kids had to share (not as advertised on booking.com) and the outside lights left blazing into room all night which was odd and made it impossible to look for northern lights (only a problem for that room).

Great spot in the hills, easy to drive to Vik and local sights. Nice breakfast and large clean comfy rooms.

The location is amazing, that was the last stop of our road trip and from this hotel we could drive to a lot of locations. Also its very close to Vik.

We had misunderstood that the restaurant linked to the hotel was not on site and we had to drive to it - but we had a lovely meal, which, despite being on the pricey side, was very nice.

Lovely welcome and service, sweet little hotel, and a GREAT breakfast with fresh bread in the morning! Happy with the room etc.

Very little. The only downside we saw to the hotel was that it was a few minutes out of town, so we had to drive to dinner. That’s hardly something they could do anything about. The peacefulness of the place made up for that, though.

Occupancy was low during the off season, so the place was very quiet and dark at night - great for sleeping. The room was very big and clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating when we met her at breakfast.

Lovely small hotel with very sweet staff . My group of four felt very comfortable and relaxed at Volcano hotel. Breakfast with cooked eggs included. Evening meal available if pre booked, we ate one evening and the food on offer was very good. We were even lucky enough to see The Auroras from the hotel!

Bathroom felt a bit dank and was a lot colder than the rest of the room, but all in all we were there for a night and it more than served our needs.

We arrived just as a full blown arctic storm was getting underway, we were grateful to be able to check in and take shelter. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the food was fantastic - possibly the best lamb I've ever had, and we rode out the storm.

Breakfast did not have many options, and the beds didn’t have a connector, they pushed apart easily. Couldn’t figure out how to adjust the temp in the room ( likely user error)

The location was wonderful! Close to Vik and beautiful views. The room was big and clean! Wonderfully sized bathrooms! The staff was the nicest people we’ve met! Very kind and helpful.

LOVELY customer service by staff. Super friendly!!! Incredible breakfast included- scrambled eggs were amazing! Location is great, 10-15 min out of Vik, so get the vibe of being out of the business of a town. Beautiful viewing of skies- Northern lights if lucky. Room huge and comfortable

The Volcano Hotel is just outside of Vik. A good spot to see Northern Lights as it's setback from the Road. It was quiet and the buffet breakfast was convenient in the communal dining area. The tables were plentiful and clean. A person was onsite and they were efficient at restocking breakfast offerings. I think the hotel was pricey (as all things in Iceland are). We paid $206 for one night - November 6, 2023. Other than that, it met our needs for a one night stay.

I liked everything

The hotel is fantastic given the Icelandic standards. Additionally it has a cossy design and very comfortable rooms. The size of the room is much bigger that usual and everything is very cleaned. The breakfast was very good. staff was nice and very polite. the building is close to the ring road , but you cannot hear the cars passing.
