this was an unexpected gem! the hotel and decor were lovely, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, the restaurant was lovely with great food! our only regret is that we were only there one night and didn’t have nearly enough time there!

I can't think of any negatives. The staff was friendly and the room was quiet and comfortable. They could use a bigger sign for the hotel. We would have missed it if we did not have GPS.

We liked that it was a small hotel in a beautiful farm setting, just outside of the town of Vik. The bedding was very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice. We had dinner at the hotel and it was delicious! The staff were very helpful, giving us recomendations for where to go.

The location and the atmosphere around the hotel were great - it's serene, calm and very quiet (which was a great way to spend our first night on the Ring Road). Breakfast was delicious.

Some hungers for towels in the bathroom near the shower would be useful.

The room was beautiful and comfortable. I loved that we could have tea and coffee any time to warm up. I also liked think curtains to block the light at night during summer, but the windows were so big that gave us amazing view and plenty light to get in during the day.

The manager, Constantine, and his wife were wonderful - very welcoming and attentive. breakfast was amazing, rooms were spacious and very clean. common area/dining room was a lovely spot to eat and relax.

Expensive for a fairly basic hotel. Be aware that if you request a double bed, it’s two singles pushed together. However, we were exhausted so it made no difference. No choice offered for eggs, only scrambled.

Friendly and helpful reception. He gave advice on where to eat and looked up the local weather forecast for us. The bed was super comfortable and the quilt was amazing. Not too far from Vik.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, answered all of our questions via email and in person. The view from the “ Family Room “ was lovely, green hills and sheep! We liked the free tea and coffee in the dining room. Parking was easy, up a gradual slope on a gravel driveway. The room was spacious, we enjoyed our two night stay! It was a perfect spot to stay during our south coast tours between Golden circle and Jokulsarlon.

The furnishings are a little outdated and in the room it felt a little bit cold (partly due to the fact that the room is pretty large). Note: However this shouldn't be a problem, since there is an additional heater in every room!

Located in the middle of nowhere - still near Vik i Myrdal - the Volcano Hotel is lovely place to be! The hotel itself is special and charming, the environment is very quaint. The fact that you can enjoy the latter at any place of the hotel - especially during breakfast - is a big plus! Also the staff was really friendly and welcoming. In a nutshell: One of the best (and cheapest | out of eight) accommondations we had during our trip in Iceland.

Fantastic staff, tasty breakfast with a reasonable selection of food. Very quiet and remote location which can be your HQ for south Iceland exploration. Great heating system. My room had a direct entrance from the exterior.

Cannot rate this hotel enough, it is simple but perfect. The owner was lovely and is consists of 7 rooms, a breakfast room/lounge and you can buy some drinks in the evening. The breakfast was delicious and the sea view from the table was fab. This is all about location and service. Room 3 looked over the hills behind and room 6 had a lovely terrace with sea view. Loved this place

Nothing, couldn't give any negative feedback about our stay here and would highly recommend, we would definitely stay here again in the future and it was a perfect stay whilst we travelled along the ring road.

Location was perfect just outside of Vik. Lovely room with a big comfy bed and fab bathroom facilities, the shower was amazing! The decor was really funky and stylish with an almost lava floor in the bathroom made out of the local black volcanic pebbles. Weren't there to watch the tv but they had netflix which was good to just chill out to at night after a long day driving. The staff we met were super friendly and the receptionist helped me out with some spare plugs to charge all of our camera batteries. Breakfast was really lovely and included in the price although they didn't have any facilities for dinner so we had to head back into Vik for food but it's only 10 minutes along the road - we had pizza at Suour-Vik which was fab.

The hotel is located outside VIK. So, we need to drive about 10 minutes to get into town. But since the sun does not go down until midnight, driving back from dinner in town during rain was not an issue.

It is a small hotel with 7 rooms only. It is very comfortable and clean, so it puts me at ease during this COVID time. We also had very good interaction with the host. She was friendly and helpful. The breakfast also was good.

Location was perfect- 10 min West of Vik and a few minutes from a handful of restaurants and cafes along the coast, plenty of incredible scenery in all directions. A few minutes from incredible beaches and good Puffin viewing (we were there in early May). Staff is very kind, attentive, and willing to offer suggestions and provide assistance with directions. Breakfast was basic but fresh and plenty of options. Awesome coffee/espresso machine in common area. The best suprise: sheep and a dozen tiny lambs grazing on the pasture nextdoor.

Nothing, it was just a great place to stay.

The host was really nice, we had a great laugh with her during our check in. Overall the room was big and clean, the hotel was only 10 minutes driving from Vik and very quite.
