“It was our first stop arriving in Italy, with the intention to relax, enjoy good food, and drink wine by the pool, and it completely lived up to our expectations! The lovely hosts provided us with the best (sparkling) wines and homemade food. The room was small but comfortable, clean, quiet, and had a good shower. What we loved most was the amazing pool in a beautiful garden, with nice sun beds and a stunning view. We would recommend this place to anyone.
The town of Venosa is charming and historic, offering delicious food. We recommend visiting Ganea; we had both lunch and the best pizza there.”
“Beautiful tenuta with acres of grapevines, olive trees, fruit trees. Chickens and goats for fresh eggs and milk/cheese. Rooms were comfortable and clean. WiFi worked well. Restaurant offered a nice variety for lunch and massive amounts of food for breakfast. It was not a buffet but we were offered a wide assortment of breakfast food. Including fresh eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, fresh pastries with homemade marmalade, fresh coffee (not a pod) and our favorite was the breakfast wine! You had to be there to enjoy the fresh grape juice! Angelica was a gracious host and very accommodating.”
“Tenuta Lagala is perfectly situated just outside the marvellous little town of Venosa (literally a 2 minute drive) and offers a relaxing, elegant stay set amongst the beautiful nature of Basilicata - a region that deserves more and more of everyone’s attention!
Our room was very cute and comfortable and we ate so, so well both for lunch and at breakfast. Of course what really makes this place so special is the incredible artisanal wine production they do. From their beautiful vines they produce a series of quite simply world class wines that should be tasted and discovered by all wine lovers!
What tops it all off is that the owners are very kind, genuine and informative and they have a created the perfect place to escape to for a few days in the Southern Italian countryside.
