Altamarea is superbly located within minutes of the La Spezia train station; use the lift to get to road level to avoid taking the longer route. From there, it is easy to travel to Cinque Terre, making it a very accessible and affordable base. There are plenty of restaurants, groceries, pharmacies etc. in the vicinity. The rooms are spacious, with efficient layout, large windows for good natural lighting, and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are also well equipped, with adequate water pressure and consistent hot water (not so with other places we stayed in Venice, Florence and Rome.). Owner Andrea was on hand to give all the instructions and information, which is a real plus (many homestay owners do not meet their guests). We unreservedly recommend Altamarea to any visitors to Cinque Terre.

It's near a lot of eateries. The train station is just a few hundred meters away. It's quiet and the bed is very nice. Andrea was kind and friendly.

Everything was just perfect. Should we return to La Spezia, we won't fail to stay there again.

We moved to Altamarea because the prrvious place where we were staying was booked. We enjoyed it even more!!! Great place. Excellent from every viewpoint.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, these are serviced rooms, tea/coffee and a small selection of breakfast items are available in your room, with cafes and supermarkets very close by.

On arrival we were met by our host and to our shame we never got just name we think it's Andrea. He was superb he gave us a warm welcome and lots of details about La Spezia and his recommendation for touring the cinque terre was spot on, thank you!! The room was very clean and was cleaned daily to a very high standard. Water and juices are left daily. Excellent location 4 minutes from train station.

It could be a bit noisy at times. Shower was extremely small. Really difficult to find parking in area.

Very clean, comfortable room. The host was very helpful and friendly and he always answered right away the chat. Very good place to stay at if you want to be near the train station which we wanted. Great place to stay at to visit cinque terre. There is cleaning service, you get your own key to get in and out and the host gave us some goodies for breakfast to have for all the days. very nice!

Clean and neat small room catering for our needs. The host met us at the apartment which is always nice and was very helpful with information about the area. The apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the train station which was a huge bonus and the room was quiet and comfortable for our needs.

The main building is quite old, but when you enter the apartment, it feels like a new world!

10/10! The room is very clean and the decoration is very cute, exactly like the photo. The owner was very kind and helpful. They also provided a little breakfast for us, which is great. Would recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in La Spezia!

Nothing to complain !!

Extremely clean and well maintained property, Host Andrea was very good in explaining everything. Property had very good bathroom amenities, and what was beyond expectation was the availability of safe locker, proper hangers, coffee maker, hot water jug, and juice, cookie, coffee and tea pouches. Cleaning done every day. Overall excellent value for the price. Location was excellent - just 4 minutes walk from La Spezia Centrale station. Free WiFi that actually has great signal.

the position of this property was great, so close to the train line - our room and bathroom was modern and clean, very comfortable. Andrea was simply amazing giving us his recommendations and I am so pleased he did as our favourite place was Porto Venere which I would of missed if not been for Andrea - Thankyou

No complaints. I would offer one suggestion. It would have been nice to have a streaming service available for the benefit of your English guests as all channels on the TV were in Italian.

We loved the location. Just a really quick stroll to the train station, main street and the harbour. Our host was super helpful with recommendations and went out of his way to provide me with an iron and ironing board to freshen up my crushed clothes from travelling. The housekeepers were lovely and came daily. English was minimal but we figured it out and they were happy to accommodate. There is a lift if like me you don't travel light and a laundromat just around the corner if you need it.

Cannot think of anything

Located minutes away from main street with lots of restaurants and shopping. Also, a five minute walk to the train station. We took the train to visit Cinque Terra from Spezia, and it was a great choice. There is much more to do in Spezia. The room was very clean, and hosts were very helpful. They recommended a couple of great local restaurants to eat, which were amazing. Would highly recommend this place. 😊
