How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Steep set of stairs (but this is similar across cinque terre)

Fantastic host who went above and beyond to greet us earlier in the day and provide advice on local amenities. Great location just minutes away from the train station. The apartment is on the third floor so be ready for some steps but it's worth it when you get up. Would love to return in the future.

Steep internal steps to rooms (no lift) if you have any physical ailments.
Lovely airy room and ensuite. Coffee machine and snacks included in room rate. Central location.

Location was perfect - right in the thick of it all and close to the services we needed (groceries, cafe, restaurants, train). Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. We had a small fridge and basic supplies. A great shower. Extra towels - all that we needed. Host was accommodating and helpful.

A safe would be very useful to store personal belongings and passports etc.
The apartment was excellent. It was spacious, comfortable, ideal location and had everything you needed. Above all the host Francesca was sensational. She greeted us after hours and there was nothing too big or too small we could ask and she was able to offer assistance.

Perfect location, just 5 minutes from the train station, making it incredibly convenient to reach. The stay is situated in a vibrant area, with numerous restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby, creating a lively and social atmosphere. Riomaggiore as a whole offers a fantastic and beautiful environment for a pleasant stay.

I had such a lovely stay. Daniela and Diego were super helpful and accomodating providing lots of assistance and recommendations. The room is bright and clean equipped with AC, fridge and coffee machine and very quiet. Right in the middle of Riomaggiore, a short walk to the water, the train or hiking trails. Perfect for solo travellers. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely nothing not to like here. It's all amazing.
The apartment is understated but exceptionally clean and in an amazing location in the centre of Riomaggiore. The gelateria across the road, mini-mart two doors up, and bar and famacia a few doors down made it super convenient. Best of all, the bed was comfortable, and in the middle of the European heatwave, the air conditioning worked beautifully. Would definitely stay here again.

Steps with heavy bags but manageable and definitely worth it.
A great little apartment with good size bedroom, self contained kitchen and bathroom. It was great to be able to cook ‘at home’ for a few nights while travelling with the small deli’s located just down the road from us. Easy walk from station to meet Francesca who was very helpful and spoke fluent English.

Noise from upstairs - not our host's fault! 3 drunk gals sounded like elephants above us. Steep stairs to the apartment - no problem for us, just good to be aware of.
Wonderful location, super comfy beds, super clean, lots of space for a family of 4. Great communication and local recommendations from the host. Windows really blocked noise from the main street (which I had been worried about when I booked).

Location could not be better - right in the heart of Riomaggiore without the hike! The host Daniela was so attentive and helpful when we arrived, even spoiled us with a bottle of wine for our honeymoon. She gave us a list of great recommendations which made the trip even better. We were so happy staying here and would definitely come back again. 5 minute walk to train station, shops, cafes and restaurants right at your doorstep. You cannot beat this place for the value!
