Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe Google directions took us through unpaved hilly roads to get there...but back to Palermo was all paved... not sure why the difference. Also a map of the local areas (Cristina Gela and Puana degli Albanesi) with restaurants would be helpful for guests not familiar with the area. Last, a washcloth for face, body, would have been nice.
Very friendly staff, including the 4-legged furry members, trying to accommodate all our needs. The fresh farm to table foods were extra special.

United KingdomThe evening before we arrived I received an email from the owner, Lucrezia, stating that the pool would not be ready for our use. I had previously emailed two or three times to check this to which she had confirmed it would be open. we arrived in a heat wave and had no choice but to drive for over an hour to the sea to be able to access some water, as she told us there were no available public swimming pools nearby. There was a small jacuzzi which we could use and that’s all. It felt like nothing was open and ready at the Agriturismo. Everything needed Sweeping and tidying up outside. It was thinly staffed and there was no sign of the spa facilities being available, even though I had specifically asked about this as well. if you wanted to get a drink or a coffee during the day this was not easily accessible, although lunch and drinks were made for us on request. The host seemed tense and distracted by the issues with the pool throughout our stay , although she was helpful in terms of advising where we could go and where we could eat. On our first morning we awoke to loud machinery around the pool and work continued for the duration of our stay. on another point- On a couple of occasions we could hear very raised voices between the host and her daughter. we were awoken one night because of this. This was not pleasant.
The location was absolutely beautiful and the room we had was lovely. Such a gorgeous bathroom. We enjoyed seeing all the animals on the farm. The breakfast was good. Due to the pool being out of use we were compensated with a larger room and a free evening meal. The host was apologetic.

PortugalThe lady asked if we would like dinner with them. We replied, yes with pleasure and specified our diet: no melted cheese, no fried food and less salt. Yes, she has only organic own grown vegetables. At the dinner, the food was too salty, she offered fried croquettes with melted cheese inside. My wife could not eat much. The very friendly waiter let me sign an invoice without writing the amount and said, that's normal. He asked for the room number. We have been shocked at the check-out that the lady charged 2x30 € for a relatively simple meal in a country where you have luxury meals offered for 20 € each. The drinks were extra priced reasonably, 13 for a bottle of local wine and 3 for a bottle of water.
A nice setting in the country

United KingdomWhen arriving to the place, the first thing we saw was an old rusty camper, which really didn’t give us the best first impression, and it turned out that the place was in general pretty worn down, and felt a bit left behind it’s time. Especially the area around the pool could use a facelift. The owners and staff constantly discussed and shouted at each other, and their kids and dogs were also really noisy. Which in the long run got quite annoying.
The rooms were quite big, and nicely cleaned and tidy.
