Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaNot just the location was great (it's near the Vatican St. Peter's Square, Roma San Pietro train station and several bus stations), but the hosts (Danilo and Giulia) are great: warm, welcoming, fluent in multiple languages and full of great tips. The bathroom is a little bit on the small side, but clean, well organized, well lit and enough to take a relaxing shower when you want to. Breakfast is very good, consistent and really comes in handy if you want to spend your day exploring Rome (which you definitely should) Being near the Vatican means not only can you get a head start in the morning with the mandatory queue to St Peter's Cathedral if you wake up early enough, but it's also considered THE SAFEST area in all of Rome. Also, if you're out exploring at night, it makes it easy to return to home base. St Peter's dome is well lit and visible from many parts of the city. So just follow it like a lighthouse and you're home (or take bus 46 to the Aurelio station and you're 2 minutes away from the B&B) There would be many things to say about what we liked about Al Ponte del Papa and about Giulia and Danilo, our hosts. But it would turn into a novel. Just come here, stay for a couple of days, explore the rich culture and beauty of the Vatican and Rome, and you'll understand why we wholeheartedly recommend this B&B as your homebase.

BelgiumI wouldn't mind a pool, but nobody's perfect.
You know that feeling when you bump into a high school classmate after 10 years and instantly click like it was yesterday and nothing really changed? That’s exactly how it felt moving into this “auberge”. Danillo and Giullia were excellent hosts, they always went above and beyond to help and make your stay even better than it already was, which is quite the feat to accomplish when Rome is such a treat in itself. The location is a stone’s throw away from St Peter’s square and the Vatican museums and most of central Rome is at a walking distance. Furthermore, St Peter’s train station is also round the corner which makes the commute to the airport all the more pleasant (trust me, you will be leaving Rome with two heavy suitcases full of new clothes). Breakfast was on point and Danillo’s French toast was subject to numerous experiments and modifications which made me long for more. As for the room, the bed was very comfortable, the room spick and span and toiletries were replaced on a daily basis. As for the interior design, I would think of a sophisticated combination of a suave townhouse in Normandy mixed with a touch a of minimalist 1930’s Bauhaus; pretty much the visualisation of a perfect refuge for any itinerant intellectual trying to escape the mundane mainstream of AirBnBnized accommodation. I spent the last day of my stay at the Vatican (very convenient as you can leave your luggage at the reception before an evening flight) and we have been told by the guide that the Pope has a secret villa/mancave on the Vatican grounds where he occasionally evades to decompress and enjoy some quality time like other mortals do. I think that’s a big mistake, he should check into Danillo & Giullia’s for a change and see what a blessing it is to stay with them.

CanadaAl Ponte del Papa is one of the best accommodations I have ever stayed at. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I could need. It was also well decorated and thoughtfully arranged. The attached bathroom was a big bonus. I really appreciated that Danilo had the room cleaned everyday, and offered to help out with my city exploration plans. He has incredibly helpful advice and offered recs of local places to eat, routes to take, and transportation choices, etc. I should also mention the amazing breakfast that Danilo provides, which is a generous and delicious spread. My first day I had a very early morning tour and had to leave at 7 am and because the breakfast is from 8/830 onwards, Danilo had packed a breakfast for me to take the night before, which I thought was very kind of him, but also indicative of the kind of care you'll get at this place. I would stay here everytime I visited Rome henceforth.

United StatesThis property was well beyond our expectations. Danilo was super responsive to all of our inquiries during the planning phase and his help was indispensable while we were there. I truly don't think we could have visited Rome for the first time without his help. The B&B was in a great location and so close to the Vatican area. Our beds were comfortable and clean and we had everything we needed in the room. The breakfast was outstanding! It was hearty and delicious and filled us up to start our day. To top it off, Danilo was just very warm and kind. You can't beat this place!

South KoreaJust minor thing; The location is near the Vatican museum, so it's not that close from the rest of the landmarks.

RussiaAmazing location, just 3 minutes by foot to Vatican. All the amazing places of Rome can be reached by foot. But if you are tired to walk, just take a bus ( the bus station in front of the hotel). The train station St Pietro is also 3 minutes by foot. But the special thing of this hotel are the hosts: beautiful Italian couple Danilo and Guilia. They are incredible nice and helpful. And the breakfasts prepared by Guilia are super cute. The hotel has a small cute terrace where you can chill out drinking coffee or wine. So, if you see the free room, book it immediately, it will be a good choice. If next time I travel to Rome again, I will stay in this hotel again definitely (in case I am lucky to book the room 😀❤️).

The hosts are more than amazing, the best I have ever met. Warm, hospitable but professional. Beautiful room with a clean bathroom. Great location especially when you like to visit Vatican and Sant'angelo. Saint Peter's square is right next to it. Safe and peaceful neighborhood, as it is located across the river.
