Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

United KingdomBecause I was told Check in was until midnight, when i arrived in the evening, I was expecting the restaurant to be open or at least staff to be there to show me my room. But no-one was around. I had to call but then they came quite quickly so it was fine.

United KingdomA little out of town as you walk in on the Via Francigena Sud. As the name suggests, they are also a restaurant, so no need to walk for dinner.
Clean and cozy, smallish bedroom, decent sized bathroom, great shower. Good restaurant and helpful staff (they accommodated our desire for an early breakfast, serving warm conettos with a smile).

LuxembourgStaff was very nice and accommodating, even gave us a delicious croissant and coffee in the morning. The room was simple, but very clean and exactly what we needed for 2 nights in the end of our trip. AC worked great! And the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced! The location is also convenient if you’re driving. Close to Ostuni and nice beaches (15min away).

Quite good value for money. Clean room, comfortable bed. The nearest beach is 10 min to walk. Alessia, an owner or manager, was very friendly. The coffee & croissant were offerer every morning.

Lovely room above a family restaurant. Spacious, spotless, really comfortable bed, loads of storage and lovely bathroom. There was a terrace outside. The owner could not have been nicer, offered us free breakfast before we took off on our cycles.

GermanyWARNING!!! DO NOT STAY HERE! My Ipad and a 3 pack of beer was stolen out of my bag in the room right after we dropped our bags to walk around the area to find dinner, after we asked the guy inside how to use the stove as the gas didn't work, he claimed that would cost extra to use the gas stove which is ridiculous. Therefore we decided to go outside, however the town was dead, literally nothing open in the entire area, and we ended up eating at their restaurant at the end where the food was actually good. Within that time someone must have entered the room and has stolen the belongings. I have messaged to property and didn't get a reply and repeatedly tried to call the property but always a young guy is answering a phone pretending not to speak English well when I ask about speaking to the owner lady who manages the bookings. After calling the first time he pretended he doesn't know about anything and never even made an effort to offer to investigate it so I was already very sceptic, he just said no to the request if there is an Ipad. After much deliberation and also contacting booking.com customer service in the meantime, I called again on a different days and asking for the owner and that I don't want to speak to him and he promised that the lady would call me back but nobody ever called back and I assume because one of the younger guys working for the restaurant which also is the reception for the accommodation must have stolen the iPad. Booking.com customer service now contacted them as well to check their CCTV etc but we haven't heard from them since. Please be aware and do not stay here !!
