How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The entrance of the building is a little gloomy. But then as you get inside the flat, everything is all right. Nothing to complain about.
Alba Rooms is ideally located in the centre of La Spezxia. It is very near the train station andf the avenue ("corso") with the restraurants. A young Lady, who spoke perfect English, was waiuting for us in the street and took us upstaris, showing us everything.

Location was perfect to explore the Cinque Terre area. Only 5 min walk to the La Spezia train station. Very clean, comfortable. Small fridge and a useful Cloth line outside the window. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores near by (5 min walk). Super nice personnel.

Alba rooms are well maintained and very clean. The host is a very nice person who is easily to communicate with. The rooms are situated in a perfect location . We really enjoyed our stay and would definately return.

We only spent one night here, but we were very pleased with our stay. The room was lovely and clean. The location was perfect, as it is close to borg the city centre and the train station. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting La Spezia.

We liked everything.
Excellent location for visiting the Cinque Terre as the train station is a leisurely 5 minutes walk away. The host has been extremely helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend this place for travellers who want a base for repeat trips to Cinque Terre.

Nothing - perfect stay!
Natasha and her niece were amazing hosts. So attentive to every question we had and went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed. The room was spotless every day and it was a perfect size for me and my two teen daughters. The WiFi worked well and my work calls were seamless. The guestroom is a 4 minute walk to the train and 1 min away from local restaurants. We found an amazing place to eat breakfast and dinner nearby called 'Ciao, Baby' between the guestroom and the train. Delicious food (the best we had in our entire visit of Cinque Terre). La Spezia is the perfect place to stay if you don't want to stay in Cinque Terre itself. We were back and forth on the train several times a day - easy. I would stay here again for sure. Thank you!

A little bit loud at night time because of the central location.
Location was excellent, so close to the train station and restaurants. Hosts were so kind. Went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Noticed that we had freshened some clothes and gave us a washing line to dry them. Gave us new water everyday and small nibbles. Air con was perfect. Shower was powerful. Building looks traditional but the rooms are very modern.

We stayed in La Spezia to enable us to visit all the villages of Cinque Terre and this B&B was in a perfect location for us as it was near the train station. It was very clean and comfortable and well serviced each day. The owner met us on arrival and gave us good instructions together with information about the area. The access to the apartment was very secure with a lift which would be needed if you have larger luggage as it was on the third floor. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance and it is about a 20 minute walk to the harbour to take the ferry. We used both the ferry and trains to see the beautiful Cinque Terre.

Awesome place! Literaly 5 mins to the train station for Cinque Terre! Natasha was super friendly and helped us with everything! Even with the parking at the area! Extra clean and freshly reinovated and also provides coffee and some snacks which is great for the start of the day!

Everything was perfect!
Perfectly clean…rooms are cleaned every day, located in the center of the city…100 m from all restaurants and stores, 3 min walk to the train station, which you need if you want to visit Cinque Terre. The host and her daughter are very nice, explained us everything! I would always recommend this place!!!
