This is truly the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The monastery had a tremendous air of mystery, dignity, and high art, yet all of the staff were so kind and helpful, almost like family, and I felt so welcome and at home. Every breakfast was a special occasion, and I will never forget our dinner at the restaurant - I hoped to experience Italian food at its best during my trip, which I realize is ridiculously ambitious, but I really feel like that was accomplished here. The location is so impressive it's hard to believe you can actually stay here! I went in October and I do recommend that time of year - it was relatively quiet (tail-end of the season) and the weather was perfect. Also it was no problem to speak 100% English.

Everything exceeded my expectations. Everymorning after a great breakfast my room was sparling clean with fresh towels and wonderful bath soaps. Everyone was professional and interested in delivering high quality service.

Without a doubt this was one of the best experiences we have had. To stay in such a fascinating place with the most magnificent views was magical. The rooms are basic but very clean and modern. We went to the restaurant for dinner which was a tasting menu. The food was great and the service top notch. We were initially worried about getting our bags up the stairs as the lift from the entrance (by the ticket office) floor only goes so far. We shouldn't have worried though as the bags where taken care of at the ticket office and taken to our room. Taxis are easy to get. We loved Ischia.

The most immersive hotel experience I have ever had. Glorious setting with natural beauty and tasteful decor at every turn. Room was small but peaceful and serene, lovely little bathroom, comfortable bed and immaculately clean. Great breakfast and stylish cafeteria with views of the island and sea for afternoon aperitifs.

Guests who aren’t able to walk up many flights of stairs should consider other choices. If you don’t have a car many of the things to do on Ischia will require a bus or taxi.

Being a former monastery, the rooms were understandably small. Not much room for luggage etc.

Been said before but be aware there are a lot of steps! There are 2 floors of rooms, if you do have limited mobility I would ask for the lower floor. Still a lot of steps but it might help a little!

The room was a little basic.

Perfect location for a great view of Ischia. Very close to all the resteraunts, beach bars and a little bit of a walk to the marina. Loved the fact that we got to stay in the castle and got to explore it too!
