No elevator , old shower with mold stains around it, noise from room upstairs, big green light at the room all night . It was Easter so I understand the price was more than usual , but breakfast was not included and the room did not feel like good value for money .

The Nautilus Hotel completely exceeded my expectations! The rooms and amenities are basic, but the hotel is clean, comfortable, and well located (the train station is easily accessible by bus) - and the hotel manager was wonderful! My friend and I had trouble finding a taxi the day we left, and she and her husband were so kind in helping us. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable, comfortable home base from which to explore the Cinque Terre.

Our room was supposed to have air conditioning, but it didn't work even though it was tried to be fixed. We were however provided a fan, and the temprature was still ok in the room since it was on the first floor, so the situation was fine for us. However it was being fixed when we got back from the town without noticing us first (we had not informed the staff about it not working) and we didn't have access to the room because of this. We were however offered the opportunity to wait in the breakfast room while it was fixed and to enjoy the pastries for free, which showed the great hospitality by the staff. We were woken up for two days in a row by the staff at around 8-9 in the morning which was not nice at all since I am a light sleeper, and the matters could have waited.

The staff was super helpful and flexible! The room was basic, but clean and spacious. It was under 15 minutes by bus from the train station and about 10 minutes walk to the city centre, so I think the location was great for exploring both La Spezia and the surrounding villages by public transportation and walking. If you wanted to walk, to the main train station I think the distance would have been about 25 minutes so that is not too bad either. I think it was great value for the money.

There were only 2 issues with this hotel but they aren't major. First is it was difficult to find as there is lots of building work being done to it and so the scaffolding made the sign difficult to find and so know that this was indeed the correct place. Secondly 2 silverfish were found in the bathroom but were quickly and easily disposed of.

Breakfast was €5 but had a wide variety of options (mostly pastries). The room was big and felt secure. Very nice pizza restaurant opposite. Lots of sockets, aircon, fridge etc however having now stayed in several places this might be standard (these were still upper end of these places). Room was easy to keep cool. The staff was very helpful and accommodating letting us check in late due to a train strike and tricky transport. The room came with 2 complementary bottles of water which might not sound like much but was very appreciated. All questions were answered, the beds were very comfortable and the washing facilities were fairly good.

The hotel exterior is undergoing renovation and is covered in scaffolding which detracted from the view from our small balcony!

Very clean and tidy room with a good shower. Rosanna very helpful. Fridge in the room and air conditioning were very welcome during the heatwave. Breakfast good. Don't be put off by the location as it's quiet and just a short walk into the pretty part of La Spezia

we had trouble trying to locate the hotel, there is no name or sign on the street. the room didn’t have private bath, which was very disappointing for us but the the Host was always on top of it, keeping it clean.

No complaints at all, the accommodation was more than we hoped for!

Our room was clean, spacious and cosy, much nicer than we expected considering we opted for a budget accommodation. Staff was friendly and we managed to check-in quite late (22:30). Nice spacious bathroom, good air conditioning and complementary water/tea with the option of using the minifridge to cool our own drinks. Perfect stay if you are planning to visit La Spezia or surrounding villages.
