Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThat it was so amazing we were disappointed we hadn’t planned to be there longer.
This is a hidden piece of history and charm. The team there are so passionate about the history of the villa and the area and about offering exceptional service and hospitality. Really easy to explore Pisa from here and the surrounding regions - a must for visitors to the area who want to truly experience the local culture.

United StatesWifi only worked at certain spots, slow signal. We arrived late, about 9:30 pm (drove from France), and had instructions on how to do self-checking, which was very nice, we thought ..However, it was a little bit uncomfortable to walk in to the property, from the parking lot, because the front door was wide opened with absolutely no people inside or outside (no staff nor residents), seemed like the entire building was absolutely empty, too quite and felt a little crippy. The gate to the property was wide opened the whole night as well - we saw it from our windows, despite the instructions saying it would be locked at 1am. We tried to contact the manager after we checked in, asking if we should lock the front door but hadn't had any response.
We stayed at the presidential suite. The beds were comfortable. We love updated bathroom and unique atmospheres. The property is full of history.

PortugalThe sound insulation could be better. You can hear the guests in the neighbouring room quite clearly.
The location and the property are beautiful, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

United StatesThe whole experience from check in to check out was great. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The property was an experience, who doesn't want to stay in a villa in Tuscany? The young lady at the front desk, wish I remembered her name (sorry), was so helpful in showing us our rooms, she served us drinks and snacks out on the patio, she offered recommendations for dinner, which was a fantastic place 4 minutes away by car, she served us breakfast which was extensive and checked us out. She told us some of the history of the property and was overall an excellent ambassador for the villa. Their rooms were nice and had all one needs for an overnight stay. The grounds were delightful to take a walk around. Would enjoy returning again sometime.

South AfricaThis is a beautiful historic old charming chateau. The room is very big, comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast was very good and the staff go out of their way to treat you. We used this place for overnight stay only and it was a great experience. Will definitely recommend this place.

United StatesWe weren't told the gate would close at night and weren't given the code to open the gate. We went to Puccini festival opera and got back very late. It took a little while to get someone on the phone to get in. Small hiccup though.
Room and building are beautiful. Breakfast was very good.

PolandThe air conditioning in the room is makeshift. It's just a cooler. It makes noise and basically doesn't work. The restaurant below the window is noisy until late. The beds in the rooms are not stable.
Lovely place.

HungaryNothing to mention here, really.
You could only speak about this place in superlatives. The garden, the plants, the building, the whole interior, the frescos, the rooms, the furniture, the basement with the breakfast room and the 'library room', the staff, the breakfast and the whole atmosphere. We stayed only one night but I wish we could have spent there even a week. It is still on my list to investigate a bit furhter the history of the place as it goes back to the 15th century.

AustraliaThree years older and with more luggage doesn't make the stairs any easier. There's very little that can be done with the age and construction of the building but a dumbwaiter would be a nice addition if it were possible.
We've been looking forward to getting back to the Villa since our first stay in 2019. It was great to see the Villa again as you come through the gates. It's still as comfortable as before and still the perfect spot to base for Lucca and Pisa.

United KingdomThe bathroom was very small, and a solid shower enclosure instead of the shower curtain would have made for a more relaxing shower as the curtain kept blowing inwards and getting in the way!
Our breakfast was substantial and served at the table with a smile. The restaurant had a really good menu, with plenty of freshly cooked choices. It had a really nice atmosphere and in fine weather there was the opportunity to eat and drink outside. Our room was a really good size.

GermanyUnfortunately, the aircon was really loud and didn't cool down the room properly, also the beds were highly uncomfortable.. With some renovation (new beds!) of the rooms this place would be a real jewel!
Hotel is located in a really idyllic historic castle and very close to Pisa. There is free parking on the grounds. The staff is really friendly and they serve excellent breakfast in the courtyard!
