A warm welcome, spotlessly clean room, comfortable bed and a very convenient bathroom. Breakfast was at a nearby restaurant, which is a beautiful establishment. Great stay for our first night in Sicily, and we look forward to our return there for our last two nights before flying home.

The room was quite clairaudient, you could hear other guests arrive and hear people in the neighboured room run up and down the stairs noisily.

Very friendly host, easy check in, giving parking directions within walking distance. Beautiful old building in quiet street. 4 mins walk to piazza duomo. On 2nd floor, so a lot of stairs. Beautifully decorated floor, lovely appartments.

The only downside was the very loud music from the bar right below the rooms, which would be very annoying to anyone who has a hard time falling asleep. The windows didn’t make the situation better and it was very loud until very late at night.

Our stay was great, everything was prepared as we arranged in advance with Carmelo, he was very kind and tried to help us the best he could and he didn’t complain even though we were a group of 13 loud Greek women. The location of the hotel was PERFECT, exactly on the center of Catania and we found that really helpful. The restaurant in the front corner of the hotel had the best seafood pasta and pizza we had. The rooms were spacious and they cleaned them every single day. The maid was so kind and even found and gave us some stuff we accidentally left on our rooms after our check out. We would definitely stay there again if we ever come back to Catania.

The location was great. Right by Duomo and University Plaza. Easy to get from and to airport. I was there for just one night, so that was perfect. The room is clean and comfy. And the hosts are friendly. Very enjoyable stay.

Parking was a bit challenging to find on the weekend due to the very central location, but there are always some parking spots available 3-5 min walk away and Carmelo was always very helpful in giving us tips about where to park and what to visit.

Everything about this accommodation was perfect. The rooms are very clean and facilities are in a great condition. The location is amazing, in a gorgeous UNESCO protected building, right next to one of the main squares of the city with the cathedral and walking distance to almost everything worth visiting. Carmelo and all of the other staff were extremely friendly, polite and hospitable.

A small problem for the parking. In the street itself, it's very difficult and not so safe so we were redirected to a parking lot at 3 minutes walk from the B&B. Not so bad but it could be noted on the website.

Perfect location in the centre of town, near the piazza duomo. Double glass windows, which is needed, since the noisy neighbourhood. The room was extremely clean and nicely decorated. the host gave us very nice references for a restaurant around the corner, a very famous family restaurant, Antica Sicilia, very nice food for a very reasonable price! Breakfast was served in Prestipino Café, Via Etnea with a choice of pastries or granité and coffee: lovely too! the appartment is situated in a historical building, where the famous composer Bellini once lived.

A lot of noise outside the building. The bedroom area was upstairs and the stairs were very narrow and steep. Every time I went downstairs I grazed the back of my legs. I even tried going down backwards to see if that would help! Not ideal if you're over a certain age and need to use the loo once or twice a night. The stairs are a death trap! Not a problem if you're young, perhaps... The mattress sloped, so it wasn't a very comfortable night's sleep.

The host was unwelcoming and, it seems, untruthful. They did not reach out to us in the days before our stay. Instead, I had to contact them. When I did so, they were initially fairly helpful. Things got worse, though, when I asked whether we might have a later check out (the general policy, which I was informed of, was 10 AM). They apologized, but said that would not be possible because another guest was due to check into the same room that morning at 11. I believed them. When we arrived at the property, though, my view of the management declined significantly for two reasons. First, it seems pretty clear that they have had bad experiences with prior guests. This has led them to treat guests more like delinquent children than like valued customers. The signage at the place really drove this point home for us. Second, the management kindly allowed us to leave our suitcases at the property while we got breakfast following our 10 AM checkout. When we returned around 11:15, no guests had checked into the room we had recently vacated. Instead, the door was wide open and we could see clearly that the room had not even been cleaned. Let me be clear: the management was entirely within its rights to refuse our request. But why did they choose to mislead us rather than simply telling us that they were unwilling to make an exception to their general policy? The bottom line, then, is that we really liked our room and found the property well located and ideal for anyone looking to stay near the center of the action in Catania. Be ready, though, to be treated like children or subjects rather than like valued customers. Hoteliers who have such a negative view of those with whom they do business should consider another line of work, I feel. We spent nearly two weeks in Sicily and stayed in a total of 6 properties; all of them except for this were incredibly hospitable.

on the third floor with no elevator. breakfast is in a nearby cafe. free parking is advertised on booking .com but it’s street parking if you can find a spot. I was able to find one not too far away and had to feed the parking meter twice a day

The bed was very uncomfortable. It was the worst I have experienced in a long, long time. The mattress was very thin, and on a non-flexible wood slat foundation. I found it very difficult to sleep and woke up with a backache. Had the bed been comfortable, the entire place would have gotten an excellent rating.

The location was fabulous - close to the main plaza and duomo. It was a short walk to everything we wanted to see in Catania, and near many wonderful restaurants. Our host was also very friendly and gracious. The room, although spacious and generally well appointed, fell short in one very important aspect.
