L’Ancora is located in the historical part of the city. That means cars are not allowed to drive to the hotel. There is metered street parking and a public parking garage which is not included.

Everything! Silvano is the owner and your contact at L’Ancora. Once you arrive call Silvano. He meets you at the parking garage, shows you where to park and takes you and your luggage to L’Ancora with his electric luggage trolley. It is a short few minute walk to L’Ancora from the public parking garage.

Silvano was incredibly welcoming, the breakfast was a decadent array of delicious food, and the view was gorgeous. The room couldn't have been cleaner. It made our visit to Portovenere all the more special.

There was nothing that we didn't absolutely love! This place is perfect. Truly.

This place is heaven on earth - truly. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the lovely and charming Silvano, we felt right at home (although we were still in disbelief that this type of beauty existed!). The location was PERFECT - just steps away from town, the sea, Byron's Grotto, and some of the best restaurants we've ever been to in our entire lives (bonus points - Silvano helped us book reservations with the best spots as he grew up in this town!). The beds were extremely comfortable, the sea-view was unbelievable, the breakfast was DELICIOUS, and Silvano was a perfect, gracious host. We cannot wait to come back and bring our family, friends, and everyone we know someday soon! Grazie mille, Silvano!

Such a wonderful stay, we were looked after so well by our incredible host! He was so kind and offered to help in every way possible. Would recommend the sea view room - so lovely to wake up to! Breakfast is brought to your bedroom door each morning which was very appreciated. Location is also excellent - right in the centre of things. We visited the beach about 8/10 minute walk away.

I wish I could have afforded to stay much longer.

The room was spacious and had everything I needed for my stay, bathroom was neat and the amenities in there was perfect. Everything was clean and the bed was so comfy. Silvano's kindness and hospitality made me feel very much at home and I was so sad to leave. Perfect for solo or couple travelling! The breakfast was a highlight!

Everything was perfect.

The location was amazing. Right next to the beach and a lot of great restaurants. It was super clean. The host was the best! Such a nice man! He even thought about allergies in the breakfast. Would definitely come back.

Silvano was a very warm and welcoming host. He greeted us upon arrival, served breakfast to our room each morning and gave us some great tips for the area during our stay. The room and bathroom were nicely updated and spotless. We swam in the bay and the grotto (highly recommend!) and used the ferry to and from La Spezia and to visit the other towns in Cinque Terre.

The suite was beautifully decorated in a modern understated style. My window overlooked the sea from several stories above the beach. The breakfast was lovely with fresh fruits, yogurt, Nutella and warm croissant. The owner was so helpful in answering my questions and making suggestions for restaurants. He helped me to take my luggage to the port. His staff even did a load of wash for me as I had already been sailing in Sardinia and needed some clean clothes for my next stop in Parma.

Was a bit pricey for only a single room in my opinion but we decided to splurge a bit and really enjoyed our stay! Would also prefer to have some more protein options for breakfast but still loved the breakfast that was provided!

Where to start?! The room was super clean, beds were SO comfortable we didn't want to wake up! The view from the room is stunning and having breakfast delivered at the time we asked was a special experience! The host was one of the best we've ever had!! He brought us some nuts and Prosecco when we checked in, had the room cleaned while we were out the second day, and was super friendly. We loved it here!

Everything you would want in an apartment, roomy, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The apartment is in the Old Town with an excellent view of the sea - only a stones throw away. A delicious breakfast is delivered to your room each morning by one of the best hosts I I have had the pleasure to meet.

the parking ( public) is expensive ( 40 euros a day..) better to park on the street , half price.Silvano was kind enough to wait with his small car and carried our luggages .

What is not to like? The apartment is centric, the units were extremely clean! Silvano and his wife are great people that make you feel right at home. Silvano helped carry all our luggage to each unit, and was always extremely attentive. They made us a delicious breakfast each morning and they provided specific recommendations and experiences for Portovenere and Cinque Terre - from where to go, how to get there and where to eat!
