How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There is nothing to dislike! It’s just perfect.
The rooms were super clean. Marinela is just the sweetest person on earth. She gave us the nicest recommendations. You can really tell that she decorated and overall hosts with a lot of passion.

I recently stayed at this friendly bed and breakfast and had a fantastic experience. The room is beautiful, clean and the bed was incredibly comfy, providing me with an great night's sleep. While the room wasn't soundproof, it was surprisingly quiet, ensuring a peaceful stay. The host was warm and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious (sweet & savory). I highly recommend this B&B for a cozy and relaxing getaway!

Owner was lovely, facilities were great, everything new and clean. Had a little breakfast included which was great. A 15 minute drive from the wineries.

If you know about Italian breakfasts, you will be fine - mostly sweet and sugary biscuits, pastries etc. However as a border town, therefore more non-domestic travellers, it would be a good idea to provide a wider choice and include some savoury items such as boiled eggs or some cheese, meats, and bread that can be toasted. There is a fridge in the breakfast area so this could be used more. Unfortunately I could hear other guests flushing their toilet in the night, and the garbage truck woke me at 4.30am - not the host's fault, of course. I checked and our windows were shut. I appreciate the windows are hard to get right, we installed double glazing in ours only to discover this does nothing for sound but is more about keeping in heat. Even triple glazed have issues. As the host points out in their response, we also hope to run a B&B and have spent 15 years working in hospitality to learn as much as we can, and being in our early 50s we have learned to take criticism constructively, but of course we know we will encounter our own issues and hopefully learn from them. These minor issues I have pointed out should not detract from the fact it is a beautiful place, and if guests know what to expect - the point of reviews - then they should enjoy their stay very much. I wish you all the best.
Edited after fair points raised by host response: the hosts have clearly spent a lot of money and time making this place look amazing, and hats off to them. The rooms are immaculate, everything is very clean and beautiful, modern and stylish. They are lovely rooms and the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and wonderful. Everything you need is provided in the room. The location was perfect for us as it was midway between town and the huge car park at the border crossing which was where we were headed that night for a free concert. It is around 15mins walk to the centre where the cafes and restaurants etc are, a lovely clean town with lots on offer.

It was all perfect
The place was incredible. Apart from its beauty (the rooms were designed by the hosts themselves in a very tasteful way), the apartment was clean and comfortable. At night it’s a very quiet place and by the daylight it stands close to the city center and many other Gorizia’s attractions. The hosts were really nice, helpful and welcoming with us. Also, the breakfast was very complete and tasty. We truly recommend this place to stay at Gorizia.

We loved everything! From the easy check in to the comfortable and pretty room until the check out. Marinela and her husband were the perfect hosts and we had the joy to meet the little dog Luna (after which the B&B was named).
