A car would have been useful for our two week stay. Taxis are efficient but expensive -20 euros from Antica Fonte to Assisi.

The location was quiet, peaceful and picturesque. The optional breakfast was excellent - plentiful with with variations each day. Everywhere was immaculately clean and flowers adorned the outside spaces. The hosts, Paolo, Daniela and Leonardo were very kind, welcoming, generous, helpful and patient - making us feel very relaxed from the first greeting. Food treats were delivered to our door each day. A ticket for the beautiful but uphill forest walk to Assisi, which took us about 40 minutes to walk, was very kindly provided for the duration of our stay. We were sad to say arrivederci to our hosts who also gave us a beautiful gift by which to remember Assisi. We shall never forget our lovely experience at Antica Fonte.

Paulo and his family were very generous, open hearted and welcoming. We were treated like friends. This is our second stay at Antica Fonte and it doesn’t disappoint. Paulo provides a beautiful breakfast. The peaceful apartments are surrounded by pretty gardens and we had views of Assisi. The large patio was a great meeting place for our family and other guests. We loved taking our grandsons on a tour of Assisi, Spello and Spoleto. Thank you Paulo

Beautiful, well equipped little apartment in a lovely setting. Had all you needed to stay in if you wanted. The views were amazing and Leonardo was very helpful. Comfy bed, nice bathroom, adorable place. Very close to hiking and Assisi.

Some properties in the bathroom could be renewed, but still very nice.

Perfect location in Assisi, close enough to walk to the city center and surrounded by beautiful Umbrian nature. The whole property is perfectly maintained. Itself is the wow-effect. Plus, Paolo is such an amazing and warm-hearted host ever.

Great location just outside of Assisi town. The room was as per the listing and the grounds of the accommodation were beautiful. The host was very friendly and helpful. We visited Assisi via car, parking was available and town Center was less than a 10min drive.

The quiet country setting was beautiful and within walking distance of Bosco di San Francesco trail in Assisi. The studio apartment was comfortable and quiet and met all of our needs. Our host Paolo was wonderful!! He brought us breakfast pastries and snacks every morning and was very helpful with recommendations for the area.

I liked everything about staying here. I feel that you do need a car if you stay at this property.

The rooms were clean, a good size and the outdoor space was perfect. We really like the views from the property and the friendliness of the staff. Paolo was so kind and helpful. He always greeted you with a smile. The grounds are so beautiful . Just loved staying here.

Can't complain about anything really.

Wonderful place to stay in the middle of the serene Umbrian forest, yet only five minutes away from Assisi by car. Paolo was an extremely gracious host, very hospitable and welcoming, always ready with useful advice and helpful tips. Enjoyed our little chats with him in the morning, a very kind and accomodating host. The setting is so peaceful and quiet, absolutely breathtaking. We stayed in a studio apartment which was extremely affordable and had all the amenities necessary for a very comfortable stay. We had a fridge and kitchen sink, cutlery and plates, a hot plate and a microwave. Comfortable bathroom with good water pressure and ample hot water. Free WiFi was available, simply a must in the middle of a forest where mobile connection is extremely poor. Ample parking was available for our 4x4 vehicle. Loved the place, scenery and the local, somewhat wild cats who are very happy to barter cuddles for food scraps. Highly recommended. Do yourself a favour and stay here if you're looking for a peaceful stay in Umbria.
