Incredible spot to stay with the most amazing views out over Matera from the roof terrace! The history of the building was very interesting and explained very well by the host. The room itself was beautifully fitted out and had everything we needed.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in this historic unique property in Matera. We stayed in the Cavelliere Suite which had the wow factor plus a great view of the Sassi from the balcony. We also had full access to the roof top terrace which had an even better view especially in the sunset. Couldn’t ask for a better stay. The property owner/manager Alina was also fantastic who made us feel like it was our home for the night! Especially as we were the only guests in the entire building that day! Nothing was too much trouble, and even left us breakfast outside the room door in the morning. We really wish we had stayed longer, so next time we certainly will! Nb: Make sure you follow the pre arrival advice/instructions or you will not find the entrance as it’s tucked well away from the main square and street. Also travel light as there are plenty of steps and then stairs to negotiate.

I like everything about this property. The room was big and beautifully decorated. The location was excellent. Very good breakfast. The staff was very nice and gave us a lot info regarding the town Matera. She pend a lot of time with us. We really appreciated that!

Perfect Location, Perfect Host, Most comfortable bed & linen and the most beautiful breakfast delivered daily with everything you could want, delicious warm pastries, savoury breads, yogurts, juice and fresh figs from the courtyard tree. I would prefer some slippers in the room due to the tile floors, and a little suggestion for a box of tissues in the room.

This hotel is a real gem, and if you can afford to stay here please do not hesitate. I was looking for something special and memorable for my birthday. I looked at many hotels, but the reviews were continuously excellent here. My only concern was the fact I had the last room, which was the smallest room. Please don't let that put you off. The room is bigger than I was expecting. It has the best shower we have had in a long time on our travels. The staff and services are second to none. The views from the hotels is breathtaking. Luciana the receptionist is a credit to the property. Our Manager/Owner was in constant contact via WhatsApp to ensure we were happy and if we needed any further assistance . We decided not to have breakfast the second morning as we are not use to eating heavy carbs so early. The owner message asked if we would like something else and provided us with a pleasant and suitable option. Excellent stay and a very happy birthday treat.

I can't imagine the more beautiful place to stay in Matera. Great experience, overwhelming views, everything nearby in short walking distance. Yes, you should park outside the old town, but its plenty of parking spots in moderate distance. Best recomendations!

The bed was comfortable but the pillows were quite stiff. Perhaps they could offer soft and stiff pillow options.

Top notch location near the Duomo and exceptionally modern and beautiful. The terrace and facilities were gorgeous.
