    Nothing at all.

This is an amazing place in a stunning location, fantastic views of Etna and the coast. We could not have asked for any more from Sara, her family and the staff - Sara went above and beyond to help us. The food was wonderful, the smell of the homemade cakes etc at breakfast was divine. Such a lovely place to stay, the friendliness of the family and staff made it a stay far beyond our expectations. Thank you.

    Nothing! Everything was perfect!

A beautiful place in a breathtaking location!Marvelous and welcoming staff, wonderful pool with great view and atmosphere. Breakfast is nice and rich, home baked cakes, and dinner is cooked by the home chef - fantastic! The town is very close by and has interesting places to visit and located not far from the city of Catania. We had a wonderful experience!

There is no public transport to get here. You have to have hired a car or get a taxi. So, that is an additional cost that might need to be considered.

"From the garden" - I loved hearing this about food that we ate for breakfast or dinner. The food was divine. The location is so peaceful and the staff are absolutely lovely and helpful.

The location was not walkable to anything. But we knew this in advance and had a car so this was no problem.

Amazing hospitality! The views of the ocean and mountain were beautiful and he breakfast was delicious!! They were even able to arrange a visit to a winery on our behalf.

gps took us from a side road the fist time we arrived. make sure you arrive to the front gate.

This place is beautiful and so peaceful, you feel it as soon as you get there. Everyone is so nice and welcoming, and they did everything they can to make us feel at home. The rooms are big ,spacious and clean. Very good breakfast, with delicious home baked pastries in addition to fruit from there own gardens. You can enjoy the breakfast sitting in front of a marvelous view of the sea or the Etna volcano (depends on which side of the table you choose). Nice size pool and very nice pool area. My kids loved it. 30 min from the cable car of Etna and in overall , I found it to be a good central location for the east side of Sicily. Sara and the whole family, thank you for a fantastic vacation, we couldnt have ask for more. We will always remember you and our vocation hope to see you again.

Sadly due to being out of season the on-site restaurant was closed which was a shame, but Sara gave us plenty of options for local places to eat. There isn’t a huge amount going on in Zafferana Etna so I’d recommend driving to the coast / a little further out for good food.

Sara was very welcoming and attentive. The villa is so beautiful with great views of the coast and Mount Etna. I’d recommend taking at least half a day to relax at the property and enjoy the surroundings. Breakfast was great - everything you could possibly want. Thank you Sara and family for a wonderful stay.

    Nothing could have been better.

The four days that we stayed at Antico Borgo Petralia were the highlight of our two weeks touring Sicily by car. The hotel was beautiful and the location was amazing, with Mount Etna on the horizon above and a panoramic view of the Mediterranean below from the lovely terraces. This is a genuinely family run hotel and nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel very welcome. Sara (who speaks very good English) was an excellent host, while Mother's authentic Sicilian cooking and Aunty's baking and pastries were delicious. It is perfectly located for a visit to Mount Etna, Taormina is only a short drive away, and it is only 45 minutes from Catania Airport. If you are planning a trip that will include the East of Sicily this hotel should be your first choice.

We regretted that we could only stay 2 nights, we will book several nights next time. The restaurant was not yet open so we missed out on more of Senora Petralia’s incredible cooking.

Everything- the beautiful views looking over the sea and towards Mt Etna, the spectacular grounds and gardens painstakingly looked after by Senor Petralia, the incredible welcome and attention given to us by their daughter Sara, the incredible baking by Senora Petralia- every morning was a feast

The family was very welcoming and accomodates every wish. Mama's cooking was the best we had on our whole trip. Definitely recommend to stay here if in the area. Location is right between Etna and seaside - both easy accessable.

    Nothing!

Sara and her family, and all the staff at the Villa are incredible. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect, and will truly do anything for you if you need anything. I'm still in awe how they turned this abandoned place into what it is today. The breakfast is delicious and there are plenty of options for all the picky eaters. Not only that, their mother is the most unbelievable cook! We ate dinner there every single night. It was so nice to just enjoy the views while having wine and a delicious meal. If you're trying to be close to Mount Etna and the mountains, I cannot recommend staying here enough!!
