Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything was perfect. The hotel itself has a lot of character and welcoming environment. The stuff were extremely helpful, they gave us advice for dinner and drinks and details about the town and the area. The room was huge and really comfortable to arrange our stuff. Bathroom amazing -big and clean- heating was appropriate for the temperature outside ( since we arrived in a cold day).

ItalyThe weather!
This was a real gem of a place. Everything exceeded our expectations, location, renovation of an ancient palazzo, style, querkyness (breakfast starts with your choice of a huge and varied selection of cups/mugs) and the professional warmth of welcome.

This is the perfect place to relax in the heart of a spectacular area between Tuscany and Umbria. The hotel is in an historical building that has been renovated with a theatre theme. The hosts are always available and very keen to help. The courtyard garden is beautiful both for breakfast and aperitivo time.

DenmarkWe were met by very kind and helpful owner Claudio, who welcomed us to the very beautiful Antico Sipario, a newly renovated charming historic hotel/theatre in the incredibly beautiful city of Paciano. Claudio also helped us lots with getting us safe to our next destination. We appreciate the help and felt very much at home. Thank you. Until next time ☺️

The has been renovated to a very high standard and feels new., but retains all the character of the original building. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a walk-in shower as well as a spa bath. There is a lift to help with luggage (although a bit slow). Free parking is just outside the city wall, an easy one minute walk away. Claudio, the owner/manager could not have been kinder or more helpful.

Parking, just outside of the village walls, wqs easy and just a short distance from the hotel. The decor was very interesting, linked to theatre and music...which reflects the history of the building. The owner is extremely friendly and eager to share information about the hotel and the village. He speaks several languages. Where you have breakfast (excellent, with home made jam), you can also have aperitifs in the evening. An added bonus is the lift. It is a very attractive, historical, village. There are a couple of restaurants in the village and we had a very good meal at Manfreddis. There are many interesting places to visit nearby, including Panicale, Castilione del Lago...and the lake.

The hotel is a beautifully renovated historic building and had been done so very tastefully. The breakfast was amazing. Home made and very tasty. I couldn't have asked for more. I look forward to returning in the summer so I can sit in the garden for a pre-dinner drink or a Sunday brunch!

United StatesPaciano is a gem of a small village and this hotel was above average. We travel a lot throughout Italy and usually the staff far exceed the accommodations so you might overlook the shortcomings. This hotel is the complete package. We stayed for a week and traveled around the area. Claudio and his staff were welcoming, helpful, down to earth, and the hotel room was great. Spacious with a great view of the valley below us. Highly recommended.

United StatesWe loved everything!
The property is absolutely gorgeous, the owners respected the medieval original structure while giving it a modern twist that perfectly suits the location. The rooms are spacious, beautiful and reveal a great attention for detail — you’ll even find a yoga mat and some weights if you want to do a quick exercise section. Everything is perfectly designed and decorated with wonderful taste and an artistic note. Breakfast is delicious, homemade (yummy cakes included) and prepared using local ingredients. You absolutely have to try the aperitivo: drinks are perfect! And if you feel a bit adventurous just ask the bartender to create something for you, according to your specific taste… You’ll be blown away by how good it is! What we appreciated the most though is not the stunning structure, the impeccable service or the fabulous food… It’s the passion and dedication the owners and staff have for what they do and the experience they’re creating. They’ll give you any sort of recommendations for your trip, help you with the most bizarre requests and explain how the project came to be. And they speak perfect English, which we didn’t expect in such a small village… We’re going to be back soon!

Amazing! The owner and staff are so kind, warm, and welcoming. They all go above and beyond to make sure you have an unforgettable experience. Great breakfast each morning made special for you and your group at the time you request the day before so it is very fresh. Modern renovations to a historical building make for a truly one of a kind experience which you can tell they put a lot of work into. Very modern amenities in the rooms (showers, tubs, TV, elevator, etc.)while still retaining historical staircase and classic feel to it which adds to the charm and creates a perfect blend of new and old. Very genuine.
