There was no full length mirror in the room. A basic error in any hotel room in my opinion. Other than that our room was close to the outside area of the bar which was a bit noisy at times. Nothing that can be helped

Very stylish well appointed hotel. Great service both at breakfast and in the bar. Well located for exploring beautiful Matera. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. Wonderful spa.

Beautiful SPA and wellness area in general, but it can be seen that it was designed by someone who does not know how to use it himself - the sauna and its surroundings should be a strictly naked area (from a hygienic and health point of view), there is no space for sufficient cooling after the sauna, a relaxation area wonderful but it's very hot there...etc.

We wanted to sleep in a cave and this was a five star cave. Staff very nice and helpful in every way. Excellent breakfast and food in the local restaurant. Nice massage.

Housekeeping staff ignored the fact it was 22:30 at night,I was a lone female traveller and the room opened onto the street-they still knocked on my door asking if I needed towels etc-this was quite disconcerting at night as it could have been anyone knocking,plus I was in bed. They also woke me up by knocking even with the do not disturb sign on the door. Cost of taxi from bus stop to hotel was a lot-was charged €15 on arrival but then €20 on departure by taxi driver-think he ripped me off. Also the restaurant is overpriced so only ate there once-€22 for a tiny tiny mushroom dish wish did not fill me up. I think a one hour free spa slot is too short also,it would be nice for guests to have longer than this included in the price.

Wow wow wow,this hotel is absolutely beautiful in every way. The whole place shines and gleams, my cave room was so special and it is in the perfect location within the Sassi-as a solo female traveller I was able to walk easily from my doorstep to all the tourist attractions. The service is excellent-room seemed to be turned down 3 times a day. Spa was gorgeous, as were my treatments. Matera is the most beautiful place to stay and explore,a real hidden gem.

A lot of options on your breakfast. Every staffs I met during the stay were absolutely friendly and helpful. Fast response whenever i sent the messages which i am super appreciate. The Spa better needs to reserved in advanced (the maximum capacity is 8 guests in an hour).

in our room we heard the noise of the elevator and also the noise of one of the buildings ventilations. The Spa didn’t meet our expectations. The space is very noisy and we had annoying experiences with the Spa staff at check in and check out (unnecessary waiting time in cold room. irritating questions)

The room is top notch, beautiful cave renovation with great attention to detail in all of the finishes. Best shower I have ever taken! Gave us a free upgrade to a nicer suite room which was very appreciated and graciously let us check out very very late at about 4:30PM. Also the spa which was included makes it an incredible value as it is extremely unique and also great attention to detail and service. Its located in a very cool part of Matera also. Excellent stay.

The only thing that wasn’t great is the smell of humidity in the room. Not overwhelming but noticeable. I saw this mentioned in the reviews of other cave hotels in the area. So don’t let it stop you from booking- it’s probably just part of the cave experience.

Great location near many of the main sights. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The spa was great! The room was nicely decorated- a very luxurious cave experience. I requested a room with a bathroom door as not all rooms have this.

For older people, it would have been better to have better lighting outside to help navigate the very dangerous steps. Of course, the hotel wanted to preserve the sense of authenticity, but it was dangerous for older people. We saw one older guest fall.

We liked the fact that there was always someone at the desk to take calls and help with arrangements. They all spoke excellent English and were very responsive. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the major sights.

The only ding would be that the front desk staff was not as on the ball as we would expect. The forgot to schedule a taxi on our check out day and the check in experience took a long time. But they were very attentive via Whatsapp and helped us make reservations which was appreciated.
