Everything was out of this world.

Amazing hotel, by far our best one in our 23 hotel trip through Italy. I recommend to stay here for sure. Amazing staff, very friendly and close, very good attitude. The hotel is beautiful, a true Matera experience. The SPA is delightful and very relaxing. The rooms are nice and the bed is very comfortable.

Everything was really great. Starting from communication before arrival to time to check out. Staff was extremely supportive and helpful. Hotel really unique, confortable bed, bathroom with good water system. Hotel is located in extremely confortable place.

very special design. beautiful hotel. staff members are so nice and helpful. the hotel is located in a great spot close to all attractions. the hotel has no parking, but they send ‘em E mail with a great explanation where it is possible to park.

Three issues: Bottom line these issues should not exist at the quality & cost of this hotel. 1 Confusion on cost of using spa. Spa staff told us clearly it was 24 euros per person or 48 euros for 2. However, at check-out we were charge 40 Euros per person or 80 euros total. Big difference for a glorified hot tub. 2 Parking is an issue for 2 reasons, first, while in a tight congested area it is NOT a totally restricted area & therefor, we could have driven up to the Hotel & checked in at which time the Hotel could have taken our car & parked it. However, the Hotel indicated that we needed to park at a parking facility outside the Citi Storica which cost 20 euros per day & 10 Euros for transfer to & from the Hotel. Very inconvenient considering the cost & quality level of the Hotel. We visited several quality hotels in similar historic centers and each time the Hotel took our car & parked it for us. Only 1 other time where we charged for this service. Secondly the information on the parking from the Hotel, which we had to locate ourselves, gave the address as XXSepembre 7-1. Unfortunately, GPS reads that as 71 & misdirected us until we put simply 7 & as the address. That worked.

All was very good, We were sat 1 foot away from one of the only couples in the restaurant which was bizarre. I asked to be moved and the host (a guy) looked surprised. Duh... Other then that, they were great

Only the maître.

I love the staff of the hotel but I didn’t like the maître in restaurant. Al it was perfect ! The atmosphere is fantastic and the swiming poll at the Spa is very relaxing . The hotel is amazing and include us in the atmosphere of Matera.the city is really fantastic , transport us to another era. Im in love of the hotel and Matera.! The lights on the floor are so beautiful!

It does not have parking. You need to chose form different options when it comes to where to leave the car and arrive at the hotel. The hotel can guide you where to park.

It is a very nice experience to spend a few nights in a luxurious cave. The room is clean and very special. SPA is incredible very relaxing. The breakfast was very good with a lot of options. Stuff very friendly and professional.

Due to the fact that the room was cave based, with rock walls, as an alergic person you can feel the specific umidity and mold smell in the room. Though, windows can be opened to refresh a bit. An extra 100 eur was required for a 3 years old per night.

Location is beautiful, in the heart of Matera Sassi.

Uniqueness of staying in a cave. Fantastic architecture. Wonderful meal made special by extra aperitifs from the chef. Great spa to retreat to in a thunderstorm.

It doesn’t feel as old and possibly authentic as Il Palazzotto or Corte Pietro so I’d combine a stay at one of these two if you can.

Five star ⭐️ luxury! What a room! Even though we always go for the smallest room to save money, this room was anything but small. It felt luxurious and elegant and was a real experience. The cave spa was an experience not to be missed. This was one of three cave hotels we stayed in during our four nights in Matera, and the night here was as magical as the other two, but this one with opulence! The perfect location and road too if you ask us ;).
