Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicVery nice hotel. Receptionist was the nicest person, thank you! Lava rocks were instead of regular beach, but impressive. Old building with antiques around, vintage furniture and so on. Breakfast was excellent, everything you need, blood orange fresh juice was mouth watering, eggs, salami, cheese and of course sweet Italian pastries. Quite place with stunning views!

FranceMaybe the lighting along the road could be a bit better, but of course this is not the responsibility of the hotel itself.
Warm and welcoming hotel, superbly positioned on the rocks overlooking the sea. Interesting antique furniture throughout made this hotel rather special. Plenty of seating areas.

MaltaOSF Excellent. There being no service lift, there might be a place for set times for service use as lift unusable on several occasions. Not so minor when guest approaching 80!

GermanyI think it's time for the hotel to consider updating their bedspreads. Currently, they are polyester quilted numbers harkening from a 1985 style book. They're clean and in good shape, just a little dated. A white cotton duvet cover with some colorful throw pillows might give them a needed update. I think in the high season with full occupancy finding enough parking might be a challenge. Was not an issue for us.
The location is at the very end of a small road. The hotel doesn't have a beach with sand, but does have access to the ocean over the volcanic rocks and the pool is lovely. The sandy beach (Naxos) is approximately a 10-15 min walk. In the off season, when we were there, the bus route starts a little farther away, but the staff told us during the tourist season the bus comes much more closely and will take you along the whole beach and up to Taormina. The hotel is full of neat antiques, but the bathrooms and doors/windows have clearly recently been redone, and are modern. The mattress was memory foam and firm, but comfortable. Like much of Europe, the king is two twins pushed together. The rooms are simple, but functional, very clean and comfortable. Super friendly staff. Bring sturdy beach shoes for walking on the rocks! They provided hours of child entertainment.

PolandBreakfasts were okay, but the rest of food was overpriced and rather poor (dry pizza, superbitter aperol spritz with tonic, tasteless pasta sauce). Any other place in the town offered better food and drinks than the hotel restaurant and bar.
Location, friendly personel, sea view, comfy beds. Cleanliness, sea water pool, free seabeds. No need to go to the paid beach at all;) No music by the pool - loved the peace and silence. Stayed one day longer than initially planned cause we liked the views and the pool so much:)

Czech RepublicProbably due to covid we had to order breakfast over the counter. There was only one man during all our stay and each morning was there huge cue to order. Elevator was old, slow and always busy.
Nice location next to Taormina city. Hotel has very nice pool with chairs and umbrellas and is located next to the sea with access via lava rocks (no chance to sit there). Rooms were nice, clean and spacious, with nice balcony and view to the sea. You can order dinner at the hotel but we preferred to go to restaurants close by. Staff was nice, always helpful

United KingdomThe view from my room was amazing, the lady at the reception was amazing and so welcoming, I had issue with my card ( Amex wasn’t accepted) and she went beyond and above to fix the issue and overall made me feel so comfortable. I hope she seems this comment ❤️ Also, the tall gentleman that works behind the bar was so nice and cheerful and even explained to me what few words meant in Italian 😅
