Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayThe mattress in the Salvia-room was a bit thin and I could feel every movement from my partner in the bed. As far as I could see, the bed in at least one of the other rooms was much better.
Very nice host. Good coffe. Flexible self served breakfast. Near the railway station. Facing a pedestrian street.

IrelandMy husband didn't realise the bathroom was outside the bedroom when we booked ( it was written in the title his fault) so we would opt for one of the other rooms with private bathroom in the room. The bed was a little hard.
The room was nice. The shower was good. Very large choice for breakfast. Excellent location, 3 minutes from train station. Lots of nearby restaurants and shops.

BrazilEverything is really nice, but the curtains are a kind of see through and the room can be very bright, specially in the morning, and if you end up in a room facing the street it can also be a bit loud at times, so if you are a light sleeper or want to sleep in I recommend bringing an eye mask and maybe some noise cancelling buds.
Excellent location ! 5-10 mins walk from La Spezia Centrale train station and 15-20 mins walk from the boats that tour the Cinque Terre. The room was comfortable, clean and of a very good size. The bathroom was a bit small but also clean and had some essentials ( hairdryer, shampoo and soap). Part of the breakfast is offered in your room and you can eat whenever you want, and there’s also bread, cheese, eggs, coffee etc available in the communal kitchen every morning. Our host, Ale, is very attentive and kind, and gives great tips on where to eat and what to see. Wifi was mostly stable when I was there as well.

B&B L'Arca Di Noè is a 4 bedroom apartment with common kitchen and entry hall, at the 4th level of an old building. We had one of the rooms with private bathroom. The breakfast was very good compared to similar places in Italy, we had a basket full of sweets like croissants, cookies, other pastries etc in the room (that was refiled second day) and also a tray with ham, cheese, fruits, yogurts, butter etc in the fridge. Also eggs that you could prepare yourself in the kitchen. Also coffee and orange juice. I read many bad reviews about the breakfast but nothing to worry about, it was more than ok. Very close to the train station. Also we arrived very late to check in after 11 p.m. and had no problem with the check in, but you have to let the host know if you are in this situation. Also we could leave the luggage there for a couple hours after check out and that was very helpful.

AustraliaThe air conditioning was tricky to work and was a little too cold when on but the room was too hot with it off. The water system makes a loud noise whenever you flush the toilet or use the tap in the bathroom. The mattress protector was a little squeaky. Overall this didnt dampen our experience though.
The room was a great size and very clean. The breakfast was generous and the host was very helpful and accommodating.

NetherlandsParking in the neighbourhood is busy. There is public parking near the station. In our case the host helped to find a suitable parking space. We advise to plan parking space before arrival.
Very close (10 min walk) to the railway station. A plus if you want to visit Cinque Terre. Also in the centre of town with restaurants and approx 20 minutes walk to the harbour. The host Allessandra was very friendly and helpfull. And she was always available when needed. Room was spacious and clean, with a private bathroom and private balcony. Breakfast is included. Daily a new luxury basket was available in the room so you could have your breakfast in the room or on the balcony. The B&B also has a shared kitchen with space for every room in the refridgerator.

The host Ale was amazing. She explained all issues regarding the accommodation, the keys and all we wanted to know about the city(restaurants, festivals, weekly market, free parking opportunities etc.). The breakfast was lovely with cheese mortadella, enough Marmelade, croissants and the best pastries, I've ever eaten in Italy.

CanadaCheck in did not go smoothly- our key was not at the proper location and we had to wait for a staff member to arrive to let us in. We waited in the rain for 15 min, it was not comfortable. The toilet was broken- the first button did not work, and the second popped off and fell into the tank when pushed. We had to fish it out of the tank several times. The button would also trigger a continuous running water which was very loud. Thin curtains meant no sunlight blocked- I awoke very early every day as the room was not darkened at all. The water tank is VERY loud. I awoke whenever the tank ran, which happened many times due to the faulty flushing of our toilet. I also awoke when our neighbours toilet ran. The washing machine (which I was very appreciate to use) wrecked one of my tops with dark stains. Unsure if I selected a bad setting, I was using Google translate. We also had to hang up the owners laundry before using.
Appreciated the daily cleaning service, fresh linens and towels. Close to the train station.

ArgentinaI was staying in the room with a private bathroom but outside of the room . The mattress of our room was quite poor, very thin and old making in it a bit uncomfortable. The room wasn’t the best one..
The place is located 5-10 minutes walking from the station . You also have the bus station nearby the place. We arrived late at night and we pick up the keys in the kebab next to the place, so it was very easy for both parts. The breakfast is amazing, you have everything you need. Yogurt, bread, biscuits, ham, cheese, juice, coffee.
