Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The host Diego is a great guy. He provided so many useful information and guides, he let us use his private parking (even after the check out as we stayed in Trieste for short tour in the early afternoon). The communication was very easy. The location is great, walking distance to the city center and main attractions via beautiful street Viale Venti Settembre☺️

CroatiaEverything was great! The location is in the center area, 15 minutes walk to Ponte Rosso. Near the apartment there is Settembre street which is full of bars and restaurants. Apartment has a very good system, you don't need a key, you get your own personal pin code. This was already good enough but they also have free breakfast included. Keep in mind, it's not a hotel buffet breakfast, it's cereals, toast with spreads and milk, coffee or juice. I had a glass of milk and few toasts with butter, good enough to start a day. The best part of the apartment was the owner - Diego. He is such a great host and a good example how people in tourism should approach their guests. First, he gave me a parking spot in the center which is very hard to find but he has a free garage. Then he showed me on Trieste map where to go, what to do, what to see. English is not his first language but he gave an effort to learn English so he can help his guests, I appreciate that. And he was available on whatsapp for any questions I had. Oh, I forgot to say that the price is one of the lowest in Trieste. Great Value for money!

SerbiaThis is an apartment in which you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Comfortable beds, clean, location 10 minutes walk to all sights, light sweet breakfast. However, the greatest value of this accommodation is the very friendly host Diego. First, he makes to park your car nicely and safely, then explains everything you are interested in, points to the most beautiful parts of Trieste, is always there for anything you need and then makes a fantastic cappuccino in the morning :-) Thank you Diego for a pleasant stay!

Fantastic and warm welcome from the host Diego who does anything to make you feel at home and who will tell you all about the lovely city of Trieste. Location is perfect to explore the town, all is from a walking distance. The room is clean, well furnished, it has a comfortable bed, AC and a great bathroom. We could safely store our bikes in a garage a few hundred metres from the hotel, all well organized. We highly recommend this hotel!

Immaculate room, nicely furnished, contemporary top bathroom with big shower cabin, well working air condition, compfty beds. Breakfast was a nice extra. He even gave us a parking spot in his nearby garage. Great location. A nice walk through a pedestrian street with lots of restaurants & shops to the beautiful city center and mole.
