How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

"Thin" walls - sometimes you can hear what your neighbours say/do - especially during nights.
Quiet night, calm area, older man at the reception is fantastic. Clean room, clean toilet. Breakfast is absolutely ok - both salty as well as sweet options. Parking spots behind the building - Athena B&B property, no extra charge. You can "rent" a bike - also this is free of charge...

There was no blanket so we were cold at night. Other than that it was perfect!
Very clean room and facilities. Friendly owner. Free parking on premises. Lovely breakfast.

Beautiful B&B, very well kept with so much attention to detail! Our room was overlooking the parking space on the side of the property so we could see the car from our room which was a nice bonus. Rooms are very clean and well kept - fit for the price. The property is around 10 minutes walk from the beach and fabulous nightlife area of San Vito but we noticed there are bicycles available as well - we never asked about them though. Breakfast is nice a small buffet attended to by the property owner ensuring we are happy with the choice. Definetly recommend.

The old guy at the reception was super kind, nice and friendly, he offered pick-up service from airport to hotel at reasonable fee. The room was really clean, nice condition with air conditioning, never hot at all.

Very clean and beautiful room for great price (also rent a bike included that is perfect way to explore San Vito lo Capo). The personal is very friendly. Breakfast more than perfect. We liked it very much.

I would strongly recommend to everyone this cozy hotel, few minutes walk from the center and beach. Very beautiful and clean. The host was very pleasant and hospital. The breakfast was served on terrace and was very good. This is a typical authentic hotel that left absolutely great impression! There are also bicycles to take! Thank you!!

highly recommend. a home away from home. the B&b had fantastic attention to detail, from the rooms to the breakfast, the decor and the fantastic staff including the really helpful owner. free spacious parking too which is a plus! the location is great. it’s about 15 min walk to the beach, there are free bikes you can use which makes it less than 5 minutes! very good location to mount Monaco, which you can see from the B&b which is a lovely view. the owner went above and beyond to help us find the starting point of the mountain, even with limited English he made sure our stay was perfect. breakfast was lovely with great coffee and crossiants. it was in a lovely sunny location again great attention to detail. the rooms are perfectly clean and cleaned in the day. lots of fresh towels and bathroom nice and fresh. I think the B&b would benefit from pictures of the room and bathroom in the sunlight, as the current pictures do not do it the justice it deserves. overall host is very friendly and welcoming. great value for money.

Quite a walk to the beach.
Fantastic spacious room with excellent bathroom, great host and excellent breakfast! Free use of bikes was exceptional. Plenty of car parking on the premises.

Very nice room in a calm location, few minutes walk to the city where restaurants and bars are placed. Feeling welcomed by the owner. My second visit, next time definitely back to Athena again

Beautiful authentic place. Plenty of free Parking right at the property. Tasty breakfast. Our room was somewhat small, but with a nice view of the mountains, nicely decorated, and squeaky clean. It also had a small safe. Piero, the host, was helpful and nice. He provides bicycles/locks for the hotel residents. The property is not right on the beach, but it is a short (for us) walk, or a quick bike ride to the main beach with plenty of cafes and restaurants on the way. If you like cannoli and arancini, then you must(!!) stop by at Pasticceria Capriccio. You will be delighted you did. It would be best to have a car here, this way you can drive to nearby beaches to escape the crowd on the main beach.
