Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot much in Aragona to do or see, so you have to go a bit farther afield for restaurants and things to do. But the food is so good at the Fontes that you really don't need to go anywhere else.
Breakfast was terrific ... so many things to choose from. Staff went over the top to accommodate our smallest request. The grounds are lovely for strolling and quiet nights for perfect sleeping. There are kittens on the grounds who are fun to watch. Olive groves are beautiful.

AustraliaOur only complaint was how uncomfortable the pillows are and there aren’t any alternatives. They’re thin and hard and hurt our necks.
We loved our stay so much that we extended it for an extra night! The food was fantastic, the staff are wonderful and the property is very beautiful. The pool area is particularly lovely and it’s nice having peacocks and kittens wandering around. We ate a couple of lunches and dinners on site - the vegetables are from a local farm and have such incredible flavour. It was very hot during our stay and the air con struggled but the staff provided a fan that helped.

AustraliaWhere do we start! The villa itself is surrounded by quiet, beautiful farm land and is exquisitely furnished. We loved lazing by the pool and wandering through the fields. The staff were friendly & took the time to get know us and the food was by far the best we ate - all made it love and high quality ingredients.

AustraliaStayed here for 2 nights during our 2 week roadtrip and wished we stayed longer. Amazing property, beautiful spaces including reading room/library and courtyards. Staff were the best and could accommodate any request. Incredible food & wine - we stayed for dinner both nights and were blown away. Great value for $! Luxe pool vibes where you could hang all day and enjoy a couple drinks or read. Quiet, relaxing and enriching oasis. Stop looking and start booking.

United KingdomAragona didn't have much appeal as a destination but Fontes Episcopi was an easy drive to the Valley of the Temples.
A lovely, quiet authentic agriturismo with a great swimming pool area. We received a warm welcome from the staff who were delightful and had the chance to watch as the pasta for the evening dinner was prepared. Aperitivi were served before dinner and the meal was excellent, as was breakfast. Our room was delightful and comfortable.

AustraliaResort Fontes Episcopi was everything we were hoping for and more. With only seven rooms, it is intimate and the staff were great. The decor is so quirky and charming, and the staff are very happy for you to wander the grounds and explore. Our afternoons were spent by the pool with a drink in hand. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and we enjoyed two amazing three-course dinners at the resort. The staff also organised us an on-site massage. You need a car to get to the resort as there is very little around, but Agrigento, the Valley of the Temples and Scala dei Turchi were only short drives away. We really hope to return one day - it was such a special stay.

FranceBecause nothing is really perfect, there are still a few issues that should be resolved in order to approach perfection: 1) the Aircon in the room is very weak. Lucky us we were there in September and the weather was a bit cooler, because if the temperatures grow higher than 35degrees, there is no way the AC of our room would have been enough to keep to room chill enough for us. But this depends a lot on your ability to support hot temperatures. 2) even if the diner (not included in the price) was Fantastically prepared by Magdalena, we felt that one of the meal was honestly too simple for 45€pp. Simple food is amazing. But you still cannot ask 45€ if it is too simple. 3) we felt the bathroom in our room was a bit too simple for the standard of the hotel. The shower cord was short and not long enough to clean your entire body if you are tall. Apart for that, everything was perfect.
Fontes episcopi was one of the best hotel we have ever been to. Everything is great. The chaotic but charming design of the rooms and the commons, the fantastic garden, inhabited by cats, bees and Sicilian veggies. The price we paid for the room and breakfast was right. It is a real heaven. We fell in love with Magdalena, our Sicilian chief who cooked us FANTASTIC meals every day. The entire staff was honestly one of the best hotel staff we have ever had in Europe. The pool and its surroundings was a real plus.

Germanythere’s just a couple of tiny things that can be improved but don’t really impact the experience: the pool loungers are fixed, so you can’t adjust the height. also the quality of the toilet paper is not what you would expect in a place like this.
Unique place to stay with attention to detail - in service as well as in decoration. The Hotel feels very personal and the food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are great. We took a cooking class with Elena which was lots of fun and seemed very authentic. we would definitely recommend this Hotel and come back any time.

AustraliaIt felt like we should be in the country but the outlook is electrical wires and roads crossing the fields. It is a great place to stay, but maybe look inwards not out!
We enjoyed the cooking course with the 'Sicilian Mumma' - although we didn't know that we were cooking for all the guests! The pool was nice and the staff helped us organise future transport etc along with some great recommendations for a guide for the Valley of the Temples and a couple of great restaurants

NorwayVery rural location and not much to see in close vicinity of the property. Need a car and plan for 30-60min trips to key attractions like valley of temples and Turkish steps, beaches etc.
This hotel offers a unique blend of comfort, service and "at home" feeling. The managers and staff are extremely helpful and provided great insights of things to do and places to go. Food and wine is excellent and reasonably priced with a focus on organically grown vegetables and herbs. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
