Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only thing I didn't like, but was no real problem since I knew in advance: I wish the directions had been clearer to find the hotel as we booked it online as B&B Allegri but the sign out front said "ai Bareteri" (look for wooden sign with a sleeping bear), and there was no one at the hotel front desk when we arrived to double check if we were in the right place. If I hadn't read other reviews saying something similar, I would never have found it. Check in was simple though, more like an airbnb in that we were buzzed in through the front door and found our keys on the desk. No problem, once we got inside. We checked out at the specific noted time, no problems.
This room was the perfect size for my husband and me plus our two teens who stayed in the room with us. We had a king bed and two twins: perfect. The bedroom, bathroom, and common areas of the property were all very clean and pleasant. Quiet also. Just what we needed for our quick overnight in Venice!

United KingdomWe were on the 5th floor and there was no lift, not necessarily a problem, and Luca did carry out stuff up for us on arrival, I'd be lying if I said the stairs weren't hurting by our last day.
The host Luca was absolutely wonderful and went out of his way to help us have a lovely holiday. The B&B is hard to find, but we found this was the case everywhere in Venice - it is however located perfectly between Railto and St Mark's which is brilliant.

United KingdomA few of the facilities listed on the details were not included. However the room was much bigger than expected and that made up for it
Extremely clean, smelt lovely. The location couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff, especially Luca, are so friendly. It was very comfortable, very safe and just made our trip much more enjoyable.

United StatesThe one breakfast we had was very good and nicely presented. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Directions finding it were, difficult. I would have never thought to go down such a skinny “alley.” But there are a lot of them in the city. Now that I know that. It makes finding things easier. This place is a good location.

United StatesThe stairs are significant and difficult to manage with bags. The signage is confusing, as it operates under two different names. The location is a bit hard to find. The official communications on booking.com were in sub-par English.
Location was excellent, the room was very large by European standards, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The breakfast, while not free, was excellent.

United KingdomNothing. it was a very enjoyable stay.
We did not have breakfast although it was available at additional cost. There are plenty of eateries nearby (including a popular bakery). The room was nice and the host allowed us to keep our luggage safe for the day, even after check-out. Directions were very helpful - especially reference to the 'sleeping bear' sign. Otherwise we could easily have missed it.

GermanyThe Wifi was not always super fast, but on the other hand told you to get out of the hotel and spend some time in the City to see things. It was a bit challenging to find first.
Its a small B&b but its right in the heart of Venice. The location is great. The room was big and you had space to move around not just room for the bed. The information from the staff was great.

RomaniaThe fridge in the room is not useable unless you pay a small daily tax. I think an empty fridge (just to keep some water cold or whatever each person chooses to buy) should be included in the room price. This is only my personal preference and might differ from person to person, but I found the pillows to be quite flat.
The location was absolutely amazing, halfway between Rialto and San Marco! The room was beautiful with great terrazzo floors and heavy wood furniture. It was a very Venetian combination that made the room look stunning! The host was very friendly and helped us hold our luggage when arriving and leaving. He also helped us buy Biennale tickets at a small discount.

FinlandThe AC remote was not in the room, so first night the room was hot. We also did not activate the air suctioning in the bathroom which resulted in not so good air quality. The price was mediocre when there was no breakfast included.
The soundproofing was good. The staff were very friendly.

Czech RepublicThere is an extra fee for everything (late check-in, extra towels...) so check the message sent by the owner after booking to avoid any.
A good value for money in the centre of Venice. Beautiful ancient building, clean, comfy enough, pet friendly - bowl and dog bed included. Wifi didn't work, but who needs wifi in Venice... :-) Also, Gelatoteca Suso is very close, don't miss this best gelato!

EstoniaBeds where springy to my liking, but that is just personal taste. Everything else was really good. Though, I did miss some darkened curtains which would blocked more morning sun.
Location was really good. Arriving with line B boat from train station to get to hotel was just short walk away. Bit touristy but getting around everything interesting is just walking distance. Staff was more than friendly and welcoming which made stay there memorable. I would say worth the price.

United StatesThe wifi was terrible, it was mostly down and when it was up, barely worked. The power went out twice in our room one night and it was extremely hot without AC, and there was no one available to fix it.
The location was very central. The host was friendly, but wasn't always there and didn't always answer calls.

United KingdomVery difficult to find the hotel had to ring but still not clear. Needs to be clearly signed. No mention of it being within the Balteri hotel and only found when you read the name tags on the building . Very unhelpful. Put a sign outside. Very poor meet and greet. We arrived 30 minutes early but the person at the premises ( no offence meant) was unable to communicate in English with us and so led to a very frustrating period until the owner arrived some time later. Too many steps, but can't be helped, just a personal observation.
Excellent location. Very clean and cool room , felt very European.

United StatesThe communication with arranging check in time was confusing and some of my emails went unanswered even though I was emailing in direct reply to the one I was sent. I was worried until I arrived and everything was fine with the reservation. The wifi was spotty and while I knew it had no lift the reception is on the first floor not the ground floor, so for my second floor room it was up 3 flights of stairs. The bed and pillows where super hard and not comfortable at all, the bed was also 2 seperate mattresses pushed together. Also the curtains over the window opposite the bed where quite sheer and the rooftop next door had a great view in when they where out there smoking. Also just to have the mini fridge on it cost 3 euro per day that was without it having anything in it. And if you wanted towels changed at any point it was 2 euro per towel. I know there is a conservation element with the towels and if the stay where only 2 nights fine, but not changing the towels without paying is off putting. I wouldn't stay again on a return visit to Venice.
The location can't be beat its in between St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. Super easy to get to.

CanadaThe air conditioning was tricky to use. Unfortunately, the wifi was spotty .
The host Luca was charming and offered much useful information; he even offered to call the cafe where we had left our belongings behind before we went back. This was super helpful as we would have wasted a trip if they had not put them aside. Fabulous location steps from the Rialto and San Marco— would book again!

MaltaWe were in one of the top rooms and there are no lifts so we needed to go up 4 flights of stairs, good to keep in mind when booking.
Really good location, few minutes walk away from Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco, hidden away in a quiet street. Luca and staff were extremely welcoming and helpful with recommendations and helping us with issues promptly. Beds were comfortable, good size triple room. Refrigerator in room, good size shower. United KingdomThe only downside was that since the location was very central, we heard a small amount of noise on the Friday and Saturday night, but I guess that's to be expected. Otherwise, a very good stay and I would recommend.
We only had the room, without breakfast so I couldn't comment on the breakfast. It was a lovely large clean room with good sized bathroom, which had a bath and shower in. It was also in a very central location, only a few minutes walk from many of the main tourist attractions. The owner also seemed very friendly. We arrived late in the evening, someone was there who could let us in and our keys were all ready for us when we arrived.
