How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

In one word: perfetto! Amazing place, comfortable room, fantastic service; from the check-in flexibility to the delicious customized breakfast and the great restaurant and beach advice. Even during high season, Aloe Ranch is a calm place to unwind and still close to the hotspots and bigger crowds.

Wonderful b&b surrounded by nature, in Elba’s countryside. The rooms are very clean, tastefully decorated, the double bed is very comfortable. Delicious breakfast on the pario overlooking the island. Laura and her helper, Lucia, are lovely people who can help you with precious advice or simply to have a nice chat with. Highly recommended!

That we stayed only 2 nights. We already miss this B&B.
First of all the owner - a very kind and beautiful person. The localisation and the facilities are exceptionally beautiful. The breakfast was delicious, served on a wonderful terrace with a great view. The room was very clean and cosy. Our stay in this B&B was really exceptional.

Couldn’t fault this place :)
Stayed in a few places on Elba island and this was definitely the favourite - Laura is a great host, the ranch has a gorgeous view, bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Nice dog friendly place, our 2 dogs were pretty happy there.

The room is a bit dark.
It was a great stay. Everything was thought in detailed. The staff is super nice, always smiling and solution oriented. Rooms are extremely clean, towels &pillows smelled soap. We felt very comfortable and peaceful. The hotel manager gave great advices for beaches and restaurants, she made our life easy 💙 we enjoyed delicious breakfast and friendly dogs accompanying us during our stay. Thanks for everything!

I don't know where to start... Maybe with the amazing owner(s) Laura and her two dogs. We felt very welcomed and at home right away which was probably due to Laura's kind and caring soul as well as cuddle time with her lovely dogs that made our time even more special. The place is just beautiful, calm and with a nice view you get to enjoy in a hammock. Our breakfast was fantastic since we had everything we had hoped for and even more (e.g. Laura's delicious homemade cake). Concluding one can say that if you visit Elba it is a must to stay at the Aloe Ranch.

We didn't mind, but you have to love dogs. They roam around freely, bark a bit every now and then. Not really a negative, but a (small) pool would finish it off for those who don't want to go out every time.
It's a nice place, Laura the owner was very helpful. Everything was above par. We feel like it has even more potential. The view is nice!

This was the best Bed and Breakfast experience we ever had. Laura and her Team are such lovely and warm-hearted people. We are definitely coming back for the awesome breakfast with sea view and the good company of Pippo and Bunny (the dogs) Thank you for everything!
