How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Without help of GoogleMaps it is difficult to find the location. The apartment is on the third floor - steep climb.
Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood with a local feel. Very clean room. Beautiful view from the room.

Too many keys 😃
The room was very clean, big and with a lot of natural light. Also, the bed was very comfortable. It is situated in a very nice area not so crowded with tourists. Chiara was very nice and helpful when we did the check in. We had a triple room with canal view and hearing the gondoliers singing was so delightful!

No lift! Be prepared to climb 3 flights of stairs in this beautiful building. Canals can be noisy at night, but this really just added to the atmosphere.
Fantastic location in residential area, away from tourist spots. A quick walk to areas of interest. Beautiful outlook over the canal. Large, secure room with bathroom in shared apartment. Great restaurant recommendations from host.

Lack of a kettle in the room. A cuppa in the morning would have been appreciated.

We loved our stay! The building was gorgeous, the room was huge and bright, the (external) private bathroom had everything we needed and the included breakfast was yummy. The staff were also really lovely and had great communication. We checked in very late (after midnight) and they sent us very comprehensive self check in instructions with photos. The location was perfect for us. A very quiet area but close to everything you need including a boat stop on the B line to and from the airport. Loved it!

Just a suggestion.need hot water for coffee or tea even at night time.
From the time we arrived up to our checkout,there was nothing that I can complain.the location is near the port to ride the boat to the airport or island hopping.it is a 10 mins walk to the main city centre.breakfast is normal for an Italian country,omelette,bread,yoghurt and croissant.choices of coffee,tea or juice.the host chiara and the other lady are very friendly and accommodating to our needs.

The breakfast was fine but we felt that we had to ask for everything and would have prefer to have choices first. But again, the ladies were super friendly during breakfast and also during check in
The location was quiet yet centrally located. The staff was super friendly and it had a nice decor. We had canal view and the jacuzzi was top!!

Our private restroom was external to our room (as described in listing), so it was slightly inconvenient to use in the middle of the night (to get dressed and go out with the key). But oh, so clean!
Clean as can be! I can’t get over how clean it is. Very roomy with two windows. Towels and soap provided. Table, chairs, refrigerator and A/C! Breakfast was provided to us, even though we were departing early (the hostess gave us our breakfast items the night before). It was a great place to stay. (For those who have trouble with stairs, you might ask if a lower floor is possible?). Wonderful place!

The locks are abit complicated to use especially at night.
The best part of the property was the view of the river and the decor in the bedroom. Elegant yet simple. The fact that it was also in a private compound made us feel safe and secure also.

Expensive (but so is everywhere in Venice).
Good location away from the crowds, nice and quiet. Lovely building, very spacious room and ensuite. Good communication from the owner to enable us to check-in outside of standard hours.
